Not really true. Most of them are highly rated youngsters and some of them still go on to be very successful. Players like De Bruyne, Brahim Diaz, Jadon Sancho, Gnabry, Paddy Roberts, have all been bought and loaned out and still turned out to be quality players.

Even others who have went on to get first team games elsewhere.

U Católica did not accept the City Football Group offer by José Cifuentes. Drop the transfer, the claims of the Quito club are higher than offered. It was time for Cifu, after a great World Cup and an international offer with projection.

Era el momento para Cifu, después de un gran Mundial y una oferta internacional con proyección.

Andres what’s it to be pal.

They did accept a bid or they didn’t

City Football Group (owners of Manchester City) presented a formal offer to UC by José Cifuentes, everything must be resolved in the next few hours for the player to go abroad. We are at the gates of the first major transfer after the MundialSub20.

One of the great figures of the Ecuadorian U-20 selected in the World Cup in Poland was the midfielder José Cifuentes, and so far the future of the player cannot be known with certainty, since it was speculated that the steering wheel aroused interest in more than one European team

But what can be reported accurately is about the formal offer presented by Manchester City, led by the great Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, by the player of América de Quito. The City Football Group (owners of the last Premier League champion) are in negotiations with the Catholic University of Quito (owner of the Cifuentes pass) for the player to join the 'citizen' squad.

Everything should be resolved in the next few hours so that the 'Cifu' becomes the first major transfer of young players who got, for the first time in the history of Ecuadorian football, a medal in a world tournament of national team

2 year loan deal with no option to buy? Don’t see the point myself.

Seemingly his club have rejected due to the bid being too low. Must be our bid surely! If there is 1 thing Lawell does well, it's definitely low bids!

So Man City put in an offer that was too low, it says so in the articles, i speak a fair amount of Spanish, . But its Lawell's fault? We are not even mentioned in the last two pieces posted on here.

Would be extremely satisfying to jump on this and take him, he would probably actually get a game for us. I think he would probably refuse to come though and rather go to Man City.

I would rather play Henderson and Johnston than play two players we have on long term loans.

Jump on this and get rid of Ntcham, gives us a backup midfield of Henderson, Eboue, Rogic, Cifuentes and Bitton. A lot of strength and depth there.

Don’t know why everyone is so upset:

Lennon said we have heard his name there isn’t an interest just a name that came up.

Think his words were "he's one on our radar". He didn't say there isn't an interest.

I'm not overly fussed with signing the guy. IMO we need players who are ready to go, Cifuentes could take months to settle.
