Fantastic photo! We get them regularly too and yesterday I watched 3 of them sitting on the rim of the bird bath and taking it in turns to have a wee drink. It was like synchronised dipping, really mesmerising.

    Thank you.
That little one is a regular visitor on my patch and usually sets the robin off!

Excellent habitat you must have there in the garden, 14 species! I imagine you'll be hoping for even more if late summer ones appear? What about Small Heath, I imagine they will be in the heaths and fields around you in coastal North Wales, but maybe don't get into the garden.

Yes it is a pretty good list often they stay for a short while or just pass through. But the Purple Hairstreaks And Holly Blue are resident fully. As for Small Heath yes plenty nearby but rarely come into my garden if ever,I will check my records:50:
I should get Peacock this year and hope to finally get Small Copper because of my much improved Wild Flower Grasss Verge. My dream species would be Clouded Yellow in my garden!!
My best species in my garden so far was a few years ago with a White Lettered Hairstreak.

Just been kept "prisoner" in our guest thehouse in Mayo as a hare and her youngster literally run around the house and hop about the front garden. They are like Irish mini kangaroos!

Thank you. It was a lovely little thing too. Just pottering about on the grass. I had to photograph it from a distance and windscreen so not the clearest photo.
