I think we will go back for him in January if he's fit and recovered.

I imagine we probably wanted to cut £300-400k off the deal since if he was out for months wed have been paying wages for heehaw and we are gambling and needing to get him an operation.

£300-400k is a lot of money to Motherwell though and given hes probably only on about £800 a week there it would only cost them £20k to keep him until January and prove he is fit again to get the full amount.

Apparently he had his op and it went well..

We're finding it hard to get player's in at midfield and we need a real goalscorer from there..

I say we just get it done and get him up to speed by the turn of the year..

I agree, if it was me i'd just sign him as well - wouldnt actually be surprised if we do go back in the last days and get him, Lennon clearly wanted him and we did still want to take him.

A few month would allow him to move into a new house, get used to the Celtic lifestyle and bed in the the players. Although he'll find it harder for game time here having come back from injury rather than at Motherwell, if he is back fit and able to play say by October he'd probably get a good 10-15 games for Motherwell before the winter break but at us he might only see about half a dozen games from the bench.

Aye he was a main target of ours and he's had his op. Think we should get it done as he's a goal scoring midfielder that creates a lot on our league. There isn't many kicking about and we seem to he struggling to identify any of those types..

Even sign him let him recover here with better facilities and physios, then loan him to Motherwell till January then once he's ready for a few game's..

Slight gamble like anything but think it's worth taking. We could end up losing out on him..

Apparently the deal was for us to put him through surgery & rehab then back to Motherwell on loan. 2M for him then add ons if he played so many games. Which sounds a fair deal. He still wants the move but most likely next summer.

Hes still liking and retweeting Celtic themed things on Twitter so clearly still wanting the move.

Favourited the tweet about Brown laying that * out in the friendly at the weekend.

I'd sign him now too tbh as long as we are happy with what we see on the medical and if he is able in a few weeks to actually complete one.

Maybe that's why we haven't signed anyone for this position yet..

Could maybe be waiting to see if alls good to go for it before the window shuts..

I think we could still bring in 2 guys anyway for midfield considering Ntcham will probably go and I dont like Bitton in midfield but hes decent enough for defence back-up.

Remember Lennon always like a centre-mid wide player, kind of hun tactic to go more solid and defensive in some games. For a long time he played Brown on the right and he also played Mulgrew a fair bit on the left and less often but still a few times Ledley.

I think some games, like Ibrox we may play with a team like

    Brown
    Forrest McGregor Centre-mid Christie
    Edouard

And the game plan will be more not to get beat and keep it tight, same in some European games. Where as Rodgers 95% of the time just played the same 4-2-3-1 with 2 wingers and an attacking midfielder and played the same style near enough every single game of the 3 years he was here.

Lennon mixes formations and tactics up quite often and isn't scared to field a defensive team. So there probably will be some games with 4 centre-mids in the team.

Could maybe see us sign him near the end of the window, better medical facilities here and perhaps loan him out to motherwell in January for game time.

I definitely think we could do with 2..

A box to box type and a 10 type..

Ntcham definitely off and I don't rate Bitton at all but he probably won't go..

McGregor is capable of doing that. Played left but further forward under the snake. Could deffo play as more of a sitter on the outside covering..

It wasn’t a big op he’ll recover just fine. I’m more worried about KT s chronic pelvic problem tbh

Do you think guys there's still a chance we will sign him this window? Because we were linked with so many midfielders, but it seemed like we didn't even care bringing another one in so far. (except Connell, who I think still needs time to be first team ready)

I don't know why but I still think we will wait and see how he is recovering from his surgery and maybe sign him later this window..

Depends on how bad his injury is. If it's as long as the quoted 6 months i seen floating about online then we should wait until january, if it's significantly less then i'd like us to go back in for him.
