Aye this. Should've had the op straight after we beat the huns to go 13 clear. Could've been 2 months ahead of where he currently is.

 

Yeah it's very poor player management especially for such a young guy who is the brightest home-grown Celtic star for generations. However it could in a sense be a blessing in disguise for the club in that it may reduce transfer interest from potential suitors if he's still a while away from being match ready. Obviously hoping he gets back to his best soon though and we see him out there for us by the end of the summer.

Still facing at least another month out

 

NEIL LENNON has revealed Kieran Tierney’s injury problem still hasn’t been cured.

The Celtic star had a double hernia op in late May after struggling for six months.

But £25million Arsenal and Napoli target Tierney still has pain in that area, and faces a further spell out.

Lenny said: “KT still has the osteitis pubis problem so it’s a slow burner that one. We will need to get to the bottom of that

In terms of the double hernia, that’s all sorted now. But Kieran is still saying he’s a bit sore to start running.

“I don’t think it gets any worse, but there’s just a constant dull pain there. Eventually, you can mature out of it. I have seen that.

“But right now, he still has a lot of discomfort with it and it’s an issue. The rest won’t do Kieran any harm at all. I think he will benefit from it.

“We don’t want him to be out for too long, but we need to get him right.

He now has some competition in Boli Bolingoli too, so that means he can step in.

“That might take the weight off Kieran a bit.”


Celtic’s domestic season kicks off in three weeks, and Lennon hopes Tierney will have made progress by then.

The Scotland youngster will miss the Champions League return against Sarajevo, and potentially the next qualifying round.


Lenny added: “Kieran should hopefully be fit in another month, and we will look to get him out on the grass maybe next week.”
