Can anyone clarify is the lad with Celtic or Bayern Munich ?

 

Would be very disappointing if we did lose him, especially after Lenny apparently letting everyone know it wasn't happening. I would like to hear him actually use those words though cause everyone involved at even the basic level would know the club had no leverage as he's still in 'Development' mode. The thing is, just Googling his name results in tabloid headlines from April saying Celtic braced as Bundesliga clubs eye Morrison. Like, when that headline was made, surely folk would've known then what the situation was?

On a positive note, least we've developed a kid who @ 16 already has Bayern eyes wide open. We must be doing something right.

 

Celtic youngster Liam Morrison has agreed to join Bayern Munich after the German club won a legal battle for his signature, Football Insider understands


As revealed by Football Insider last month, the German giants have been working on a deal to prise the Scotland youth international, 16, from Parkhead and that he was on the verge of agreeing terms with them after being offered a contract


A Celtic source has told Football Insider that the club’s hopes of keeping hold of Morrison, who has one year to run on his youth registration, have failed.


Bayern and Morrison’s representatives legally challenged the youth registration successfully and Celtic have been forced to let the player leave for Germany.

The teenage centre-back has agreed personal terms with the Bundesliga champions and will put pen to paper on a deal.

Celtic will only receive minimal compensation for the rising-star defender as he has taken advantage of cross-border regulations to make the move.

His departure is a massive blow for Celtic as they have had high hopes for the teenager, who has been capped by Scotland at Under-17 level and is regarded as one of the outstanding players in their youth set-up.

He has made his mind up to became the latest in an increasingly long line of British rising stars to head to the Bundesliga.


A more senior Scottish defender, David Bates, swapped Rangers for Germany when he signed for Hamburg on a free transfer last year.

But Morrison’s imminent transfer is far more remarkable, given his age and that he is wanted by the biggest club in the country and one of the elite ones in the world.

 

What a complete and utter riddy Lenny saying he was going nowhere and a week later or so he's off to Germany..

The amount of foreign scouts that attending youth games in Scotland is supposed to be insane right now.

 

Is it *! He's only made it clear he and the club wouldn't let it go without doing everything they could to hold onto the young lad. Ultimately, he's not a slave and can go anywhere he wants. The contractual laws are what the lawyers decided and we'll get whatever is due... it's ANNOYING, but there's * all embarrassing about losing a kid to one of the best teams and setups in world football

 

He never said losing him was embarrassing.

He said the comments were.

That is very disappointing, he must be very promising but that's going to happen to our best talent unless they're KT Celtic mad.

It's a pity Lenny had to learn the hard way we have no leverage when it comes to players that young. It's not a terrible riddy though, he'll be getting asked a million rhetorical questions a day, he speaks from the heart and not the head sometimes and we wouldn't want him any other way so it's not too big a riddy.

Well we do it too, so it's gonna happen to us other way around.

He is only young, so it's hard to judge what we're missing, only saw him once against Rangers and he was shall we say, not very good.

 

So Celtic have him on a youth contract

Bayern take it to court and win.

So the contract isn’t worth the paper it is printed on.

Don’t know anything about the guy could go onto be a top player or another Feruz gone now sorry to be callous but like Ntcham if he doesn’t want to be here * em!

 

It's disappointing but we've benefited from this sort of thing so can't moan about it.

It's up to us to convince him that we're the best place for him. Tough task when it's Bayern calling.

That's out of order, he behaved nothing like Ntcham and he's 16 ffs, his future is totally uncertain at this time so he's making the most of it, who wouldn't go to Bayern?

We gave Ntcham the chance of a great future and he shat on us and bizarrely himself but I've no sympathy for that kind of stupidity.
