A few things: the russian league is short (only 30 games), there are very long breaks, the level of opposition is relatively low (would say the disparity between Zenit and a mid table russian team and us and the rest of scotland is comparable) and after 3-4 months of winter break everyone is as rusty and unfit as he usually is. Remember how bad they were in the first leg against us?

In fact I think it would be better for him because it would be a much less challenging competitions in terms of stamina and fitness than all other top leagues in Europe. So maybe Zenit knows what they are doing

I’m surprised it’s that high! I can only remember him going more than 65/70 minutes twice in that time and those were because of in-game injuries (not his) and subs all being used.

But I suppose 18% won’t be that many games anyway.

I’d bet a few quid that most international appearances were followed by 2 weeks to 2 months injury/recovery period before next domestic game.

What is wrong with some people? Would they rather we didn’t have a team?

Only a duo of Christie and McGregor have the legs and determination to play a 4-4-2..

Yeah we badly need another box to box midfielder who is a level above Christie if we want to play 442, teams would bypass our centre with a duo of McGregor/Brown/Rogic/Ntcham/Henderson/any other * bar Christie

This. A 442 with Brown in the middle is asking for trouble.

Aye, you need a Wanyama/Kante type that can protect the back 4 and win back possession. Harper looks to be that sort of spoiler type, whether we get him is another thing.

Christie in a 4-4-2 gives me the fear. Any form if that formation does.

I would go 3-5-2 if we want 2 strikers. A flat 4 would leave us overran loads IMO.

Zenit bid 9mill with a list of add ons extra 3mill if he plays 90mins in10 games another 4mill if he goes a full season without injury.

At some of the Asia Cup games in January you could've fit both sets of fans into a minibus.

the confusing thing is apparently Zenit were keen on getting Rogic due to his performances against them according to aussie media- which is strange considering he didn't play in the first leg where we won 1-0, and only played a half against them and came on at 2-0 down. Think it's just the aussie media trying to push for a transfer away like we've seen for about 3 seasons now, and it's took him all this time to get settled here so why would he move to Russia? Will only leave for England imo

Big Tam is a liability. He's always injured, has chronic knee problems that aren't going away (hence the word chronic), costs us a sub every game and if we don't have any subs left then he is just left to hobble around the centre circle. Oh, and he's always * off half way round the world to play for his national side. Honestly would have him on the bench by this point and that's saying something because on form he is the one guy in our team that can win a tight game all by himself in a moment of magic

Feel much the same as most. A huge a talent but it does not change the fact he is a talent made of glass.

It's strange we all have came to accept he can contribute 60 minutes a game. This is a Celtic player we are talking about. Quality and the ability to play 90 minutes should be a minimum requirement imo. If we have been offered £9M then accept it. The task at hand is finding a player of a similar quality that can last the 90 minutes on a consitent basis

Finding 'similar quality' to Rogic is going to be pretty close to impossible. He's probably the best technical footballer we've had since Lubo.

Rogic couldn't lace Nakas boots and Naka probably won more headers than him too

He's 32, we couldn't afford his wages and he has a year left on his deal with Rennes. And Rogic is better.
