Aye i wouldn't be against that. Would make sense that..

Kinda want us to still get him now even after all this..

Would be interesting to know what we came back with as Motherwell won't get a penny now for 6 month's. Strange as they were practically dancing in the streets when we first offered..

Anyone else got a feeling that we'll still sign him this window?

For me this deal is a dead rubber.

We don't have time (and subjectively, the money) to * about waiting on this kid getting fixed, then rehab, then working up his fitness, then more time to gel... etc etc etc.

We're going for 10 here. Only plers who can play for me at this point.

Genuinely feel for the kid and im sure lenny will keep an eye on him no doubt... but for a vastly reduced fee.

Also his cockroach of an agent can suck it. Wheres your 20k a week now you * *?

They'd need to make deadline day about 3 weeks long.

So we asked to take him on loan this season with no option to buy at the end? Hope that isn’t true that’s embarrassing.

After reading the reports this morning he is now out till at least the new year, so this deal is dead in the water.

Motherwell have stated that Celtic still wanted to complete the deal but initially Turnbull would have his op and stay on loan with Celtic for the season while he was recovering and the medical staff at Lennoxtown monitors him.

Next season he would then become a Celtic player but at a much reduced rate, Motherwell have said that doesn’t work for them regarding the loan and the reduced fee.

Would be interesting to know what was offered. Regarding Turnbull’s knee, he was a ticking time bomb it was said, his career could have been ended at any time if he doesn’t get the surgery.

Blessing this. Glad we pulled out.

It’s not true Motherwell have said that Celtic wants to take him on loan and manage his recovery and then he would sign permanently next season but at a very reduced rate.

Motherwell have said no, to both the loan and the reduced offer.

Edit - I don’t see the point loaning him while he is injured and manage his rehab to be fair.

It’s a silly thing to offer and then say well we will buy him next season but at a fraction of the price but this has to be agreed within the loan agreement.

I understand that the club want to cover their back but it’s pointless really

I think we would still have signed him if him and his agent hadn’t been * us about at the start, can’t help think this is a bit of a power play by Lawwell, his ego must’ve been bruised with what went on.

Can see why Motherwell don’t want to do this then. He could be worth more than £3m by the end of next season if his form continues.

"Welcome to.." threads before it's officially announced are an absolute beamer. Two or three times now it's been done and fell through/had a prolonged saga.

Or he could end up never being the same player again and his stock plummets.

It’s never easy when you are a young up and coming footballer and have an injury that keeps you out for half the season.

Especially regarding him after last year breaking through, he will have to show great determination, and will to get back to his best.

First of all he will have to heal physically and also mentally, this would have been a massive blow not only his knee problem but his failed transfer.

I really do wish him all the best and hope he gets back to where he was but unfortunately in football most of the time it’s not always the case.

I’ve no doubt he’s got a problem with his knee, but i think it could have panned out differently if he was keen on coming to us from the start and not * us about. We would probably have signed him for a good fee in spite of his injury.

We did offer to take him and pay for the operation, rehab and a year long loan fee and if he fully recovered pay the full £3.25m next summer and Motherwell said no can’t do much more than that

If true, that's totally on Motherwell.

They would actually "win" in that scenario, the same transfer deal, plus a loan fee.

If they have rejected that(assuming this is true), then would suggest they fear he wouldn't recover fully long term. Which is more telling of Motherwell and adds fuel to the rumours they always were aware.

6 months or a year off his contract, 6 months out of football and a knee surgery to go along with it.

    Motherwell aren’t seeing £3million again.
