    Factoring in his wages over that year it would work out at foregoing £3.8 million. Keeping him on that salary when Lennon doesn't fancy him would be silly.

    I’d take £2M plus saving £1.5M in wages, he’s not got the hunger or drive he did in his first season, happy to let go if we can get in a quality replacement after rebuilding the defence.

    That depends on if he sees him as worth the wages. On the money he's on I would want someone who is an automatic starter. I don't think he's the kind of player Lenny would be starting any way regularly.

    No. Otherwise, we would have let him leave at the end of his contract.

    Unless we renewed to sell and the gamble didn't pay off with no offers.

    I really like the guy, hard not to tbh, but he has definitely lost something in his play. Still contributes in goals and assists and that's credit to his attacking instinct but last season he was a shadow of his former self.

    I would sell for £2m+ but if he's kept around for goals/experience then so be it, it's good competition for places and cover for eventual injuries.

    He’s definitely slower over the first 10 yards now, used to have that burst of acceleration to get past anyone but now struggles.

    Yeah, I think he used to scare defenders with his pace and control, now he seems hesitant and slower.

    2 million :56::56::56::56::56:

    The fact folk are suggesting we should sell him for that proves how much of a whipping boy he’s become.

    Even if you think he’s * (wrong) that is pocket change in today’s market, particularly from England. He’s worth multiple times more than that.

    Every transfer we complete wether we’re buying or selling creates a benchmark for future transfers. That’s why it’s so important we’re constantly getting more and more for our top players. Not long ago £10-12m would’ve gotten you our star man, now it’s likely to be £20-30m.

    Same goes for selling players that aren’t quite our top players anymore. £2m in today’s market is virtually a compensation fee and tells teams that guys on the fringes of our first XI are available at a knock down cost.

    At this point I think people just ignore the large contributions he's made in the last 2 seasons because they haven't been as high as his debut season.

    Absolute lunacy selling his goal and assist contribution for 2 million.

    Why are folk so quick to want money for him and off the wage bill? We are not the financial guys at Celtic. There is plenty of money in the Celtic piggy bank and wage budget - of that there is no doubt. Don’t know why folk are so interested in stockpiling even more money in favour of a guy who has been a consistently excellent contributor for 3 years :39:

    I really don't think he's worth more than that. We got him for £4m when he was much more effective than he is now.

    Lennon clearly doesn't fancy him and I think we can do a lot better. Can't argue with his goal return but he has become ridiculously predictable in his attacks. £2m is £2m more than we would have just letting him sit on the bench. I'd get rid.
