I think that Turnbulls great end to the season tempted us to go for him. We're probably still after one of Harper/Aribo. Can definitely see Ntcham leaving, Rogic blows hot and cold, Brown will be another year older and probably won't play as many games.A few injuries could see us struggle quality wise in midfield.

This is not a provocation, it is a legitimate question: we all remembered how good Lewis Morgan was playing for a diddy team. At that point, he was quite more experienced, capable and well known than Turnbull. Almost nobody, not even me included, was against signing him.

How do we know Turnbull isn't going to end up the same way? We have plenty of deadwood in the squad already. Surely if he is good enough to join us in our most overcrowded position, he should already have been considered for the scottish national team or something?

    Turnbull first team squad
    Harper first team squad
    Connell project/back up left back

Can't see us going for Aribo if Harper comes in with Turnbull and Connell after..

Ntcham and Mulumbu will likely go...maybe Kouassi as well..

How can we have possibly signed one of the best talents in the league yet find things to moan about.

It also shows us in a better light for future transfers with Scottish Clubs who we should always be looking to first for potential.

As said before all players are a risk, never know how they will fit in. We brought on a right back from Dortmund valued at 5m plus and he couldn't cut it. But Morgan played in a lower league so at worst we know Turnbull can cope in this league.

We don't, but couldn't he just as easily be the next Robertson?

    Agreed mate..

We've done the right thing here :50:

Always good to have that core homegrown quality group. Hopefully turns out Christie-esque, or better even..

Mulumbu may be loaned out, but he won't be transfered. Lenny may take time to have a look at him given theft fact he's not played under him.

That is exactly my question: how much better than Lewis Morgan this guy is, if Morgan was already a cracking player?

He's a lot better, Morgan did well in the championship with the best team in the league. Turnbull has scored 15 goals from centre mid in the top division in a team that struggles

Slightly worried about the fee, £3m for a guy who's played one season.

He has looked good mind you, but here's hoping he's a good un.

£3 million does seem quite a lot ,where does he fit in ? Can only guess he's a replacement for rogic or ntcham or both.
Motherwell announcing it is weird must be trying to drum up more interest

We don't. Just the same way that we don't know if ANY new signing is going to be a hit or miss. Or indeed, if a current player who's just had a good season for us will follow it with another.

We can only make informed / educated decisions and hope for the best.

    Sort of player is he?

Know absolutely nothing about him really, can’t even mind him against us.

£3m is decent money for us, Ntcham cost a bit more, but that’s the type of level we should be looking for in that price range. Hopefully this boy can at least make an Armstrong like impact.

We dont...you sign someone and hope for the best...some times you get a larrson and sometimes its a derek, every time you buy a player you are rolling a dice..and the cost of the player means nothing.

Looks to be a technically gifted attacking midfielder, with an eye for a pass and a goal.

I think that Lennon had something to do with how quick deal went. I suspect that its one of the reasons that he signed as manager again. He probably told them that no more fannying about with transfers. Hope im right and they get good quality players in and on time.

You are right we don’t know, but the comparison of players makes it easy to answer for me

Morgan wasn’t playing in the top flight when he looked great Turnbull was and scored and set up all them goals at just 19.

Regarding Scotland managers have overlooked some of the smaller teams players for years the other real reason some of the Kilmarnock players are in the side is because of Clarke.

I bet Turnbull will have a call up during this coming season while at Celtic.
