But if mcgregor is far less effective at intercepting, tackling and heading then why on earth would you want him positioned there when you could have a sitting midfielder who can do all that and mcgregor playing to his strengths?

That box to box player would be far more likely to get caught high up the pitch.

I appreciate your opinion, but i think theres still this notion that we can try to outplay quality opponents, similar to Brendan Rodgers naive line of thinking, when we would benefit from having more steel in the middle of the park to complement our technical players.

To be honest the more and more he was playing there, the more natural he was looking. He was intercepting more and more and getting stuck in..

What is his strengths then? That sitting role is probably the best I've seen him play getting rave reviews everywhere and our fan base wanting to build a team around him as the deep lying playmaker that makes us tick..

He's good/competent almost anywhere on the pitch but with that touch of space further back and his passing and vision....I'd keep him there and be happy with him domestically and in Europe as the 6. All day long..

We should be building the team around him as a deep lying playmaker.

Go and get a box to box CM to play with Christie either side of McGregor.

    McGregor
    New CM Christie

The only time we played anywhere near well this season was when brown was out and McGregor and Christie were bossing it .McGregor has a far better range of passing and speed of thought, he should never have been moved out of there after how well he did

McGregors display against Bayern Munich at CP was phenomenal.

Again its just my opinion but id want him given the freedom to get forward and have the security of knowing that theres a DM behind him.

He has the ability to create and score goals and so I want him in the positions where he can be dangerous and do that. From his days on loan as a teenager he has always been a goalscoring midfielder who has got forward.

I dont doubt that he can play a deeper role and take the ball on the turn and he is strong in possession, but for me we can bring in a strong DM with good defensive qualities who can win us the ball a lot more and allow CM to do that higher up the pitch.

Dont shoot the messenger but been hearing rumours of calmac to leicester past couple of weeks. Starting to think theres something in it with the boy turnbull signing and the fact weve been linked with a few cms. Dont think we can afford to lose both mcgregor and ntcham at the same time.

Not just the press mate. Heard couple weeks ago hes been down looking at houses in leicester and then a few days ago heard from someone who works with his da in glasgow council his da is saying leicester have approached us about mcgregor. Personally hope its alot of pish, just got me thinking because of the cms were been linked with that it could be possible for both ntcham and mcgregor to be leaving this summer.

Canny see CalMac going anywhere tbh, although would imagine a few clubs will show some sort of interest.

No chance we sell Ntcham and McGregor in Lenny's first window..

Ntcham will go. We'll build the team around McGregor..

Mcgregor won't be going, any rumours i've seen of him leaving are huns stating he's "gone" because we're close to signing turnbull, who primarily plays in a different position from Mcgregor.

Is that where this has started? :56:

Aye there's every chance McGregor will play the 6 next season with the amount of attacking midfielders we'll have at our disposal..

He'll get a very well due few week's off now..

Aye mate, a few hun """itk's""" who make Kerrydale seem like the epitome of good information, are spreading that this is us downsizing and that Tierney is off as well. You'd think they'd stick to their own club, i mean they are legit getting excited over the prospect of Ryan Kent rejoining them :56:
