He doesn't really fit in though does he?

Isn't quick enough, doesn't fit our style and we have better options in the middle. Isn't a centre half..

I'm no saying his attitude is a disgrace or that but I've had the impression for a good while now that he's just happy to be around collecting a wage he probably wouldn't get elsewhere. That's the clubs fault, no his....I'm just stating I'd rather have people here who are really good options off the bench, and that will be busting a gut to impress..

I don't think he's a good option and I don't get the vibe that he's knocking the door down impressing to get a regular run in the first team either..

You can't criticise players for not appreciating Celtic enough then also criticise a guy like Bitton who obviously really appreciates the magnitude of this club. He's a capable player who's had a difficult time with injuries. Happy to have him over Ntcham purely based on his commitment.

Ah, probably where we disagree mate. I like him as an option, very different than what we have elsewhere. Good range of passing, useful at defending set pieces, can choke a game out.

He does exactly what we want him to, what gives you that impression btw? I think every manager he’s played under here has really admired his attitude.

I just feel he's painfully slow on the ball and getting around the pitch. He actually commits so many fouls because of it..

    I've thought it for ages..

Just a vibe I get from him and he's a kinda joker in the dressing room that doesn't really play. Seems to be happy to just be comfortable and no playing. Could be wrong but we've got quite a few I have that impression of to be honest..

All about opinions mate. I think being out injured for 18 months clouds peoples view of him as well, the last he could really play regularly was the Invincible season, then he was a major reason we got into the CL the following season.

Then he picked up a really bad injury.

    That's it mate :50:

Maybe I'm being harsh on the injury front but I've no been a big fan for quite some time..

    Hopefully he proves me wrong..

I'd be even more committed than him if I was on 15k a week to sit on the bench/stands.

Well aye but all of our players are on a decent wage. They don't all appreciate here as much as he does.

While some of his recent play has been frustrating, his passing has been off for me, his willingness to take on the responsibility of asking for and receiving the ball is impressive even if he hasn't been in the right sort of form to be his most creative with it.

Overall, I don't think he's an immediate concern and wouldn't be surprised if Lenny sees a good squad player there.

He's been a model professional the last few years. He knows he isn't going to play every week but does what is asked of him and doesn't cause problems in the squad. Think we'd be hard pushed to get someone at the level we know he is capable of that would be happy to sit on the bench within our budget.

He's a better centre half than midfielder for me. Think he's good cover in not positions.

Forgetting about his ability for a second:

Yourself and folk agreeing with you know a great deal about us and the game but even so I can't help wondering why are we getting rid of someone before we know for sure we can replace them?

Isn't it better to replace a squad player before they go?

He's never on enough money to save us a fortune and if you think he's not very good then we're not going to have to look far or pay much to replace him?

He's looked good whenever he's been given a chance. He's excellent at his own little niche of being a big silky lanky *. He could be a massive player for us in the right system.

Pish is harsh, he's been ok considering.

What are you using as a measurement, like is there a player who you would say in a 25 man squad is the lowest of ability we should go?

I would agree with that. A good player to have in the squad. We play so many players we need guys like Biton who can step in and play a role and he can do that for us.
