Crucial purchase - RB, CB, LB, LW

Reckon that'd get us through to the group stages.

Once we qualify - CB, CF

Reckon that's doable if we do it in those 2 phases. We'll struggle to qualify for CL without a drastically better defense than we usually have. In total I'd expect good quality additions for all those positions to cost us about 20-25m, which we'd need to seriously subsidise with sales, even given qualification for CL. Loans will need to be a component of it to make it viable.

Edit: oh, and obviously we'd need to clear out almost all the players we can get rid off!

Time for a more mobile right back.

Bain is a decent keeper but we should look to improve in goal.

Now would be a good time to bring in another defensive midfielder who has physicality. I think Brown will have one more season and will need to be well managed this year.

Stated my feelings before but i think we should look to replace Rogic with a 10 who will be at 100% and be availible more.

A striker, with pace and an aerial presence would also be ideal although highly sought after.

Id love Paddy Roberts back and think it could be realistic this summer.

Taking Benkovic back could be very beneficial for both parties.

    A back up left back.

I think one of Mcgregor, Forrest or Tierney (less likely) could leave and might need replaced.

Shved and Bayo are like 2 new signings let’s see them get pre season and a few months under their belts!

Middle to front I think we are ok depending on departures!

For me the focus has to be in the back 5 unless it’s an out of the blue can’t miss type signing like Shved looks like!

I’m excited to see Shved in action. Has Bayo been on loan?

Think he was Injured right before he was match fit.

He wasn’t match fit when he signed them he did get fit and ruptured his hamstring on international duty that ruled him out for season.

Paddy Roberts in his last year of contract and didn’t light the sky is Spain. Should be able to get him cheaper than a couple of years back. Would love it if he came back, got fans off their seats, scored goals, created chances. What’s everyone’s opinion? Think the shop has sailed or think this might be something paddy would think about?

This, but also more than this. Toljan is more mobile than Lustig but he’s definitely not better. What it’s time for is a quality right back, shouldn’t be too much to ask for right? :fear:

Defo think we should be on that

    Hopefully

    Rb - Gummy etc....

CB- Benkovic(loan) know it's a stop gap but would be to good to knock back/ New signing Pontus Jannsen etc....

LB- someone who's happy to play 6-10 games as back up , if none then promote from youth

DM - a hardy bstard or give Eboue a shot

    Winger/Am - Paddy Roberts

Would like a striker a proper no.9 , but with Bayo still to get a shot plus The Thumb back ?

    Gk
    BAIN
    youth or loan back up

    Rb
    NEW RB
    Ralston

    CB
    AJER
    BENKO/NEW CB
    Jozo
    Lustig

    Lb
    KT
    New back up / Hayes

    CM
    BROWN
    MCGREGOR
    CHRISTIE
    New Dm/Eboue
    Nctham(if sold replacement)
    Rogic /ROBERTS

    Rw
    FORREST
    Johnstone

    Lw
    ROBERTS/SHVED
    sinclair(replace if sold)

    Cf
    EDDY
    Bayo
    Thumb

That's if we stick to 4-3-3

Tbh prefer an think he plays best Lw Eddy so play him there an sign a proper no.9 or give 1 of the other 2 a shot

Biggest change that needs to happen next season for me is within the squad and that’s to play McGregor as our main sitting midfielder and Brown used sparingly and to cover McGregor.

Outwith that we need 1 striker, 1 winger, 2 centre mids, 2 centre backs, a left back and right back.

And lastly rid of all the deadwood and with a * attitude.

I totally disagree with this. I like mcgregor where he playes with the freedom to move forward.
I want a player with physicality playing the holding role. We could risk getting overpowered/dominated in midfield if we dont have a bit of steel in there.

Do you not remember when did play in there? It was the best football we played and he had no issue with physical players, he’s fast and deceptively strong. I’d rather play our most technical players where they are most effective, no point playing him next to Brown when Brown is slowing it down or further forward when he’s the best player for getting the ball forward quicker.

Yeah i do, im a fan of how he can take the ball and turn and face play.
He can play there but id still rather he play infront of a defensive midfielder so he has the freedom to make late runs into the opponents box. For me his stand out games have been when he has that freedom.

As good as he is on the ball, he isnt physically imposing and he isnt great in the air. I want a Wanyama type in there to complement the likes of Mcgregor, Christie and Rogic if they are to play in the same side.

What use is a Wanyama type when majority of the games we play are against a 10 man defence where a defensive midfielder is not needed. In Europe yes it’s needed but I’d rather have a deep lying playmaker like McGregor which allows Christie to have the freedom of being box to box who will score and create as much as McGregor does and actually makes more runs that McGregor does and let Rogic play in the hole.

This all depends on who we have as manager though and what style of play he’ll implement. You don’t need to big and physically imposing to be a great defensive midfielder.

McGregor is far more physical then people give him credit for.

Amount of times I've seen him do the Broony covering spaces and nipping at heels and getting a tackle in.

Not that I would want him there, he's to good technically to be that deep, would rather he takes Rogic role.

That would be a signing that would excite me. His team this season Girona are on the verge of relegation and it seems like the move didn't work out for him at all so certainly he won't be at Girona next season.

That gives us a core squad of 17. The priority signing is a right back, followed by 2 centre halfs and then a goalkeeper. We will need a competent back up at left back and an attacking left midfielder.

I would like us to get another striker in as we just don't k now about Bayo or how Griffiths will be long term.

8 players and we should be good to go.

Need to get a wad of players off books.

Paddy Roberts would be my no1 target if he'd come.

    Benkovic would be good again.

Need a ball winner too, McGregor and Brown can't play together in that retracted role, McGregors form has totally disintegrated since BR left, back to the guy that offered nowt and went hiding, and he never hits those wee spaces around the box he plays next to the CBs with Brown.

Probably a striker, as can't trust Griff and Bayo to be available.

I'm guessing Valencia would cost too much, RB, maybe try for Barry Douglas.

Losing out McGinn last year was a ba buster.

As important as new signings are to freshen things up, players like Johnston Henderson Dembele Oko-Flex will bring some energy and excitement back into this team.

Then add Shved and Arzani. Badly need to move a lot of players on though.
