Spent the weekend on the south coast of Wales visiting brother and Niece. Took a boat trip around Caldey island, a bird wildlife sanctuary.

Seen some Atlantic Seals, Cormorants, Oyster catchers ( love the sound they make) , Herring Gull and puffins. Only 40 nesting pairs left on the island after a big influx of rats (thankfully now under control) and puffins making a return.

Photos ain’t the best due to it being nesting season and having to give them extra space.

Well the last 3 days have been brilliant conditions for Wildlife, especially passage migrant birds.
What do I have to report,a 3 day drinking bender, zero sightings but dozens of cans and plenty of wine.
I have done this same report on the North Wales Wildlife Page on Facebook:92:

About an hour ago I had a Blackbird having a bit of a squabble with a Magpie in the tree outside my kitchen window. Great watch.

What a sound the Grasshopper Warbler makes good friend. A few years ago my daughter and I were in Baron's Haugh RSPB Reserve in Motherwell. We were walking to the hides when we heard, and saw, a grasshopper Warbler. A man approached us, asking what the noise was. He didn't believe us when we told him it was a bird. He walked away shaking his head, mumbling something about " fukin' smartarse birdwatchers trying to be funny." We had a good laugh that day.

Just got back from Ruby Boxer’s 2nd walk,I heard a racket on a stretch of my local woodland, loads of birds going crackers.
The cause of this was 2 young Tawny Owls and one of the parents. Got brief good views of the * bird.
Also 3 Tree Pipits noted on passage good friend.
