Yeah, mate. Puts Brendan Rodgers leaving into its proper perspective.
We have to win the Scottish cup now: a treble treble is not an adequate tribute; but it's the nearest thing I can think of.

AS a Celtic supporter, Kieran Tierney knows full well just what Billy McNeill did for the club and how much the fans loved him. And like every fan, Tierney is mourning the loss of Celtic’s greatest ever captain.

The 21-year-old has stood alongside his fellow fans when he’s not been playing, and has sung songs in tribute to the Lisbon triumph. And he has paid his own tribute to the man known as Cesar.

Kieran Tierney said: “This is a really sad time for every Celtic supporter, and everyone here at the club passes on their thoughts and prayers to Billy’s family.

“As a supporter, you grow up hearing the stories of what Billy and his team-mates achieved, not only here in Scotland but also in winning the European Cup back in 1967. That was an incredible success, and the fact that the fans sing a tribute to it in the 67th minute of every match just shows you how much it still means to everyone.

“When we all come to the stadium, the fans and the players, the first thing that welcomes us is the statue of Billy McNeill holding up the European Cup. That’s an amazing sight and it just reminds you what an incredible history that Celtic has.

“As players, we’re all proud to wear the Hoops and we want to make the fans proud of us, just as the Lisbon Lions did back when they played.

“And I’m sure that when all the fans get together at Celtic Park this Saturday, they will have a fitting tribute to Billy, who was always a great supporter as well as being a legend as a player and manager. Real men conquer Europe. * bless.”

Just really stunned and saddened since I heard the news when I woke up this morning, I can’t pay a bigger and more apt tribute to Billy than what has already been said perfectly by other posters, the 67 team and of course Billy always will be special to me as it was the same year as I was born and it’s genuinely very saddening for me to learn of the passing of any member of that team and era.

Despite being stuck down here in Bristol, England for a few weeks and the fact someone else has my season ticket for the last 2 games I will make the long drive on Friday night to make sure I am there in person with you all on Saturday at the Killie game, No way I can miss that occasion

He certainly has. That trophy haul as player and manager is just short of a third of Celtic's total major trophies in their whole history.
