Missed the game yesterday, but just watched it on Celtic tv. Aberdeen were a total disgrace - Cosgrove hitting the deck every two seconds, the whole team kicking lumps out of us, and Derek McInnes being a * as usual. You need to also blame the SFA and Scottish officials for letting players constantly kick the * out of us with no consequences over the course of the season.

So we’ve rightly condemned, but also asked for action on songs aimed at us.

I agree but at least they are on the front foot over this. The * the sheep were singing yesterday was way worse than what McInnes had aimed at him imo.

We hope the authorities also take the same interest :50:

Nicely worded and a clear dig at the Media and the top brass who have continually ignored the child abuse chants aimed at our players and supporters.

The child abuse chants are a disgrace, but trying to think what legislation it breaks?

It’s going to keep happening regardless anyway.

But good of Celtic to say something now.

Someone from Celtic sent a statement to the press.

Hence it’s nothing on the club website.

Incredible the fallout from the cheer up derek McHunnes chant is still ongoing. Total witch-hunt laying the blame of sectarianism squarely at Celtics feet. Articles online still being churned out about us as the hurt is too much for them.

Astounding that no one has the balls to address the elephant in the room and point the finger at the true source of genuine bigotry in this country. Full house every week at ibrokes and away grounds singing about killing catholics....nothing. We literally had fans fighting for their lives a few weeks ago after we beat them but it was Scott Browns fault.

Also the orange order is not a religion.

Although they are aimed at Catholics you can't prove it. However singing death to the * and kill the pope obviously is religious.

This is where we go down the route of what constitutes free speech and what can be considered offensive or discriminatory.

The phrase “Sad Orange *” is quite evidently not directly attributed to a specific religion. It is used as an inference to an inherently sectarian organisation. Therefore, I am attempting to try and discern what is discriminatory about this phrase myself.

If we are going down the route of sectarianism being considered as offensive language towards ‘every sect’ in just about any organisation (which I think is completely incorrect - the nature of the word derives specifically with religion) then surely libelling Celtic Football club and its fans in relation to child abuse is sectarian in itself (using this definition).

The sensationalism when it's Celtic fans singing the songs is insane, compared with the manky mob. Obviously 'ra peepul' would never be so undignified as to label opponents as members of an orange lodge.. paedophiles maybe.. but that's no offensive is it? :31:

The Daily Record is running with 'peadophile' chants, which whilst disgusting, is not the worst thing Aberdeen fans were singing on Sunday.

We were being told yet again "we're in the wrong * country" - that is unadulterated racism.

As I said in another thread, if fans of a club of say Indian heritage, or Pakistani heritage, were called 'plastic Pakis' or told to "go home", there would be universal uproar.

    You are right.

But I really wish we would drop any references to orange *.

I'd defend our fans' right to sing songs about the resistance in Ireland (from whatever period) but anything regarding orange * is not necessary. It's making it seem like we're on par with the Klan, and the various other clubs in Scotland such as Hearts, Motherwell, Kilmarnock, Sheep, Hibs etc who are saturated in anti-Irish racism.
