I don’t even think the job is up for discussion. 3 managers in one year for Celtic is unheard of. If it hasn’t happened in 130 years the chances of that changing are slim. There is no likely candidate.

Interesting point regarding pressure. I was just thinking there can't be more pressurised challenges in football than the Championship Play Offs. The amount of money involved and the amount of games in the Play Offs they have to win. However, I'm pretty sure there is a wide range in quality of manager who have achieved that. Rodgers passed that challenge with flying colours the first attempt he had, pumping Reading who sacked him earlier. Neil Warnock and Chris Hughton are good managers who I'm sure have achieved that at least once if not twice? I wouldn't prefer either of them over Lenny though but I can see the argument for it.

However, that pressure is different from the pressure that a manager would have to withstand here which is the constant pressure of media attention and need for fast flowing attacking football that is also successful. The 4 rounds of CL Play Offs is a lot of pressure too, being in the CL and the money it brings means a lot to us as we don't get much TV money. Ronny was a decent coach in Norway but he admitted the pressure at Celtic is just mental, it's a huge club and some folk, especially those down south in the best league in the world don't think we are big at all. So I'd be wary about getting someone who doesn't understand who and what we are.

I think it's in Lenny's favour that he proved successful in the CL although it could be argued the team was better then I still think we have a squad good enough get through 4 rounds if the draw is favourable. Plus he has the summer to recruit.

I would love Benitez but I think that's just too much of a long shot, especially after the near miracle of getting Rodgers.

“I spoke to Mr Desmond yesterday, I speak with Peter every day.

“There’s a lot of speculation about people being interviewed.

“They don’t do that sort of thing, they let me get on with the job and if and when they decide who gets the job then they’ll speak to the right person”

Sounds like it’s his to be fair. I read that as they have already told him the job is his, doubt he’s bluffing with that statement

The positives for NL are the fact he's done the job before and is aware of the current squad and what we need for next season.

It's been his to lose since he stepped in the door. He has 6 games to put all the doubts to bed. Hopefully today was the beginning. Have went from 40/60 back to 50/50 after today.

It needs to be someone proven at winning, or at least coming close, like Rodgers, to winning a league. Someone that knows how to get a team winning weekly, with high expectations.

Today has to be a massive positive mate. It was obvious Lenny knew how big this was and that, this was the game he was going to be judged on.If we hadn't gone through today he had no chance. It doesn't mean he should be the manager next season, however it does mean when it came to the crunch game we went out under Lenny and completely dominated the game.

I disagree mate. Thought he looked calm and in control and that’s generally how the game went

I get the sentiment, but Neil talking to Peter every day means he might not have the guts to call him out if he dismantles our team again like he did after Lenny's best season. Kind of thinking if a naughty person like AVB would be best?

I would be more open to Lennon's prospective appointment if he had the right coaching staff behind him.

I actually think that Deila would have been an ideal assistant manager for Lennon.

I think that Deila is humble enough to work under Lennon even now, too. Deila laid the groundwork for Rodgers: who better to preserve his legacy?

I thought he was nervous but on the surface he looked calm and ready.

See if John Barnes and Tony Mowbray fancy putting the cones out while we're at it?
