Coming from the guy who’s been saying Lustig’s done for about a year to suddenly saying he’s ‘clearly not done’ because Lennon wants to keep him :giggle1:

    Love you Gyp.

And again I’ll ask what part of back up did you fail to grasp? The guy had no break at all and then threw in at the deep end under * face. But you keep trolling through posts to try and prove how good Ralston has been.

Of course, mate. I don't dispute that. It's the rate and the lack of reinvestment that stand out with Lenny (and to a lesser extent Ronny). We sold Dembele and bought Edouard, I don't consider that a downgrade. Compare that with the board's "purple period" where they simultaneously sold our best player to Southampton 3 years in a row (all Lennon signings by the way) while refusing to reinvest the money in more expensive young talent like Edouard like they did for Rodgers.

If you can permit me an analogy, Rodger's brief was to polish rough diamonds like Moussa, sell, reinvest in new rough diamonds like Eddy or Ntcham and repeat; Lenny's brief, on the other hand, was to somehow find rough diamonds in Poundland, polish them, sell them and then head back to Poundland again.

His record in the transfer market is second to no one in our history.

No one is saying, "Oh, gosh, Lenny had to sell some players. That's never happened to our other managers." See my post just above.

Cherry picking quotes out of context... If you get bored of your job, I see a good future for you at the Record or Sun.

The old posts I quoted never mentioned anything about Ralston or Lustig being a back up.

You said I was clearly wrong that he was done but you’ve been saying all this time that he’s done. It was a * take :giggle1:

Don't dislike lustig but i'd prefer us to buy another RB and have Ralston as back-up next year, mind you if the snake could properly do his job in defence we wouldn't be in this position.

So because I’ve posted stuff months ago then Lustig isn’t good enough back up at RB. And you are wrong over Ralston, he has had 3 appearances compared to Lustig’s 38, maybe I should get the job given how much my opinion on Lustig matters to you. :84:

Surely if Ralston was any good then he would be closer to the team, but naw we bring in Toljan which says it all for me. Since then he’s not had a sniff.

I never quoted posts of yours saying he wasn’t a good enough back up though :yeah:

I’d take you if Bielsa doesn’t come...

To be fair hasn't Ralston been injured since January? Toljan is rank and i think the lad would have had some chances in between if he was fit.

:56: Fair enough but I think he is getting on and shouldn’t be a regular starter, but given he can move in one as we have a full rebuild then maybe keep him. :50:

Toljan is not rank imo, he has suffered massively from having no support down that side at times. I don’t know if Lennon is telling Forrest to move inside constantly but that’s what he’s mostly been doing. We had the Aberdeen game at home where Toljan was putting in crosses whilst Forrest is * about in the 10 role.

I genuinely didn't think you were being fair. I may be have been wrong, but the posts looked to me like they were taken from match threads (if I am am wrong about that, I will apologise and take back what I said in the post you quote). In the match threads emotions run high and almost all of us post all sorts of overreactions all the time.

As for my patter, well, I was trying to impress you, but clearly it didn't work. However I can assure you that my unmet needs were not a factor in the substance of my argument. I'd still have said something along the same lines even if I didn't long to feel you deep inside me.

As I say, if I am wrong and most of those quotes were not from match threads, I apologise.

Agree with that. It’s correct to say that everyone has to sell players, but the circumstances that Rodgers and Lennon found themselves in were very different with regards loads of things - the squads they inherited were miles apart, the amount they were allowed to spend, the way Rodgers was permitted to keep players that he really should’nt have been.

I don’t know of anyone who I think would’ve done a better job than Lennon did in terms of building a team from scratch.

In his first 2 summer windows we signed:

    Hooper
    Kayal
    Forster
    Ledley
    Stokes
    Izzaguirre
    Mulgrew
    Wanyama
    Matthews
    Lustig
    Wilson
    Commons

For a total of around £10m - that’s actually an unreal level of value. Also managed to get Rogic in for £400k the following summer.

As far as an eye for a player goes, he’s the best we’ve had in a long time, and I include Rodgers in that.
