Would be great if he was able to play in a game or 2 toward the end of the league.

Don't think he was ever going to get back in under Rodgers to be honest. They already had a fractious relationship.

I thought the way the snake handled the question of Griffiths possibly being at a racecourse when they were in Dubai as pretty poor and classless.

Got a feeling he well, most likely just sub appearances since I want to see Bayo and Aitchison get game time as well.

Apparently Griffiths was told that to get back involved under the Snake he had to go to London for treatment and pay 20K per week for it which he never had at the time. Rodgers froze him totally out.

It's pointless speculating on what may or may not have happened. I just found it crass that Rodgers publicly commented on a journalist's speculation that Griffiths had been seen at a racecourse.

Any sensible manager that wasn't up his own * & that had genuine concern for an individual would've been more diplomatic and said they hadn't seen it. If there was an issue deal with it in-house and in a more sensitive manner. Don't add to a feeding freezing of the red tops that hate anything with an affiliation to Celtic.

Scott Brown says Celtic will not rush Leigh Griffiths back from his self-imposed exile.

It was confirmed on Wednesday that the Scotland striker will this week begin a "phased return" to his first-team Hoops duties as he continues to deal with a number of personal issues.

The 28-year-old has been out since December but is due to return to work at the club's Lennoxtown training complex, in conjunction with the club's medical and sports science staff, as he eyes up an eventual return to action.

Boss Neil Lennon insists the club are not putting a timescale on when they expect him to see him back in a Celtic shirt.

And Brown believes it is only right the former Wolves and Hibernian man is given all the time he needs.

"We're glad for Leigh," said the Hoops captain. "We just want to give him a lot of space and let him decide when he needs to come back.

"We don't want to talk about him too much.

"We just want to make sure he's OK, he's happy and back in the place that he loves to be."

Meanwhile, Leigh Griffiths is back training after a four-month absence to deal with personal issues. Lennon is quietly optimistic of getting the striker back before the end of the season but will not put any undue pressure on the Scotland internationalist.

You never know with Griff,” he said. “He’s deep. I’ve known him a long time, I brought him here and I know what player he is and what a player he can be. His focus now is to get back into the condition to be that player again but he has the opportunity to do that.

“He is coping and it can’t have been easy for him. We are all human beings and have our frailties and unfortunately sometimes they are blown out in the public eye but he is coping with it as best he can.

“He has got a bit of work to do in terms of his conditioning but he is working very hard.

“He is in twice a day now and it will be that for the next couple of weeks. We will assess him as we go along. You hope that we can get him on the pitch before the end of the season but there are no guarantees of that.

“We don’t want to bring him back and he gets re-injured so he has to get himself into the best physical condition and at the minute he is knuckling down and preparing to do that. It is great seeing him back in and around the place. We missed him. He can get back to his routine life.”

    JK on
    @Leighgriff09
: "He’s now in a period where he needs to get fit and back to that level of condition which will allows him to get training on the pitch firstly and ultimately get him on the field whenever that’ll be. We aren't going to put a time frame on it."

JK: "Leigh’s been through a lot, the club have supported him with that and will continue to do so. He’s back in a good place working again which is important and we’ll just monitor that as it progresses."

His future looked bleak under Rodgers who never fancied him no matter how well he played or how many goals he scored. Rodgers would blow smoke up certain players arses all day but would only give credit to Griff when pressed by the media. Im not just saying this now because of what happened with Rodgers but I thought at the time the way he treated Griff was disrespectful and out of order. Obviously there is more to Griffs physiological problems than that but it cant have helped.

Rodgers would heap praise on Dembele even when he ambled around in certain games looking completely disinterested and we all knew would leave the club at the first sniff of a 'big' club coming in for him while Griffiths was disregarded by Rodgers. Maybe Rodgers seen a lot of himself in Dembele, a guy who always had his eye on going somewhere else. Griff will be glad to see Lenny back and I will be glad to see a great player back on the pitch that appreciates playing for our great club.
