Lennon is working really hard to not get the job after the summer.

We need someone who can Play the 10 role while Rogic, Christie and Ntcham get up to speed. Give him a shot as don't think he could make us any worse

    Spot on.

Get McInroy in the squad, not Allan. Just madness if Lenny does it.

Lennon obviously rated him as being good enough for Hibs, but I’d be very concerned if he thinks he’s good enough to have a positive impact here.

Would he nuts. That would mean near enough our whole midfield squad is injured? If Bitton and Allan are on the team sheet we may as well get Ronny on a flight tonight.

Why consider a guy that has signed a pre-contract, was way down the pecking order and everyone says we have better or more beneficial options. The fact Lennon is even considering this shows how high he rates him, possibly higher than some of those you & others have mentioned. Watch this space.

Scott Allan only ever wanted to feel wanted.

Even when Celtic signed him in 2015 there were suggestions that Peter Lawwell’s motivation behind the deal was to rub Rangers’ nose in the fact that Hibs wouldn’t sell to their Championship rivals.

But the last four years have done nothing to convince Allan that he was ever really wanted by the Hoops. For the chance he felt he deserved simply never came.

He’s not the only one, of course. Cristian Gamboa, signed a year later in a £1million deal, then barely seen in Brendan Rodgers’ first team picture. Same goes for another £1million man, Marvin Compper.

Together they were simply forced into a small group of forgotten men stuck in limbo somewhere on the fringes of Celtic’s Lennoxtown training centre.

Unsure on a daily basis whether they should dress with the kids in the development squad or join in training with the first team, the experience has to have taken its toll on their spirits.

But not, it seems, on Allan’s determination to get back out there and show what he can do now that he’s found the club willing to give him the platform he needs.

For that, at the end of the day, is all he was asking for at Celtic.

Allan said: “If I’d got a run of three or four games and you don’t do it then you can hold up your hands and say you did not take your chance. But it was never there for me.

“I didn’t get that run even at the start during the Ronny Deila era.

“Ronny left after the first season but I don’t think it was him who signed me in the first place.

Every other player in that squad got at least two games to show what they could do. I never got that.

“The relationship with Brendan was fine. It was hard for me to argue about not playing because the boys there had done such a good job over the last three years.

“It was more about wanting a clear programme for what you were doing for the season that frustrated me.

I’m not angry. I just wasn’t expecting it.

“It became an easy decision (for the coaching staff) to make about players who weren’t playing. They can train there, they can train over there.

“It was luck of the draw. You were finding out 10 minutes before training started which squad you were with. Sometimes the first team, sometimes the development squad.

“I felt I dealt with it really well. I felt for players like Gamboa – a great pro who never got a sniff after November – and Marvin Compper did the same.

Of course Hibs had given Allan temporary respite from his frustrations the previous season with a successful loan spell under the management of Neil Lennon.

But even his arrival at Celtic to replace Rodgers in February didn’t bring game time, having expected to make the permanent move to Easter Road during the January transfer window.

He added: “When Neil arrived, he said he would get me game time but it wasn’t to be. He did feel sorry for me. Me and a few others, like Gamboa.”

Complete diddy but players not knowing when, who or what they be doing for training is embarrassing.

Main point there that stuck was the treatment of Gamboa, done excellent domestically whenever started then suddenly don’t see him for months.

Only signed him to get it up them, had to know after that first season that it just wasn't happening. Never get a contract that lucrative again, so can't blame him for staying the distance, but if playing regular and feeling wanted was all he wanted, he'd have been off 2-3 years ago.
