Our youth team is incredible, would amaze me if Mcinroy and Okoflex don't get game-time before the season ends.

Aitchison, Oko-Flex & McInroy need minutes in the first team. Especially Oko-Flex as the way he's going he'll have a bit of interest in him.

McInroy should be involved on Sunday with our shortage of centre mids. So much talent in that team, hopefully see a few involved soon.

Really want to get excited about some of the youth we’ve got on the brink of breaking through but be surprised if any of them outside of Dembele ever actually get a serious run.

THE CELTIC Reserves stormed their way into the Glasgow Cup final after dismantling a hapless Partick Thistle 4-0 in the semi-final at Lennoxtown.

The game was put to bed within the first half after Kerr McInroy, Armstrong Oko-Flex and Wallace Duffy established a comfortable lead for the Hoops. Jack Aitchison rounded off proceedings in the second half with his third goal in as many games.

Tommy McIntyre’s side started the game with a high tempo and caught their opponents cold with an early goal. Celtic kicked-off the game, but Thistle found themselves on the centre circle doing the same one minute later after going behind.

Celtic captain Kerr McInroy fired his side ahead with a powerful strike from around 20-yards which took a wicked deflection off a Jags defender on its way in.

Any hopes Thistle had of finding a way back into the game looked unlikely given Celtic’s control on the game. The Hoops dominated possession and moved the ball well in midfield as they looked to capitalise on the promising start.

The visitor’s main strength was their defence and they make Celtic work to create further chances. A mazy solo run from Armstrong Oko-Flex in the last third almost doubled Celtic’s lead in the 12th minute but, after skipping past three opposition players, the Hoops forward’s shot inside the six-yard box was blocked.

But Oko-Flex made the most of his next opportunity midway through the half when he tucked the ball beyond the keeper with a neat finish assisted by Aitchison.

Aitchison was instrumental in Celtic’s third goal too which game just before the half hour mark. He timed his run well to latch onto a pass in-behind the opposition defence before cutting the ball back across goal. The keeper saved the initial shot from close range, but Duffy darted in to tap home the loose ball.

Celtic had other opportunities to add to their lead in the first half as pressure continued to rain down on Thistle’s goalmouth. Karamoko Dembele almost scored just before the break with a wizzing left-footed shot across that was narrowly wide of the mark.

The Jags almost conceded another early goal with the start of the second half. Aitchison’s half volley from just inside the box had the keeper beat, but the ball thundered off the wrong side of the crossbar.

The second half was equally as dominant as the first, however there were far fewer goal scoring chances for Tommy McIntyre’s Hoops.

Daniel Church provided a great cross in towards the back post which nearly yield a fourth goal for Celtic. Stephen Welsh rose high and directed the ball goal wards, but he was unable to keep his header down.

Aitchison looked hungry for a goal having tested the keeper on a couple of occasions in the second half. He got his goal with over 30 minutes remaining in the game with a well struck shot which from the edge of the area.

Church created an excellent opportunity late in the game with a surging run down the left wing. His drilled pass across the six-yard box was begging for a green and white jersey to tap home, however no team-mates were able to get on the end of the cross and the final whistle spared Thistle any further punishment.
