If they recall him outside of a transfer window pretty sure they can't play him till the contract would be up with us at the end of the season so would be pointless, but knowing that sleeket *....

 

Big Filip the only one to gain anything from this week - the snake knows how good he is so he might actually get a game next year.

Benkovic is a cracking player but there's no chance he stays let's be honest. So would people be happy if him coming back means Ajer back on the bench?

He looks head and shoulders above Ajer to me as regards defensive ability, take him back in a second.

 

No chance he stays, especially with the rat going to his parent club.

For his own good he's get much more career improving lessons learned here if he stays another season, especially if he helps us qualify for Europe. I think Ajer is still young enough to spend some time on the bench and still learn a lot in training.

We do have to handle Ajer right though, make sure we let him know how much we value him before anyone else tries to bend his ear.

Whatever happens, we still need a CB, so Ajer will still have to share.

Filip Benkovic has revealed he is ready to return to the Celtic line-up ahead of the title run-in.

The Croatian defender hasn’t featured since the 3-0 win over Hamilton on January 26.


He had been complaining of pain in his ankle prior to that victory at Celtic Park.

Former manager Brendan Rodgers, who will have the on-loan 21-year-old in his Leicester squad next season, insisted he would be out of action for six to eight weeks.


And Benkovic is ready to return on schedule and could even play in the Premiership clash at Dundee on Sunday.

It’s likelier, however, he will return to the team for the Rangers game on March 31.

Benkovic told Croatian media: "My situation? the injury is almost behind me.

"I want to play as many games as possible by the end of the season."

The centre-back was left out of Croatia’s squad to face Azerbijan and hungary later this month due to his injury.

Celtic are eight points ahead of second-placed Rangers as Neil Lennon looks to get his side over the line. The return of Benkovic will provide a major boost.

 

Wouldn't risk him against Dundee, a back 3 of Boyata Ajer Benko would * dominate though. I'd like to see us try 352 again.

 

Would be great to see him on the bench this weekend and maybe get some time in the second half if he is fully recovered.

 

Could maybe even give him a game against St Johnstone reserves on the 25th if he doesn’t feature against Dundee.
