    Those are fair points..

But, if win the treble in style, he’ll deserve a shot at it..

An innovative Director of Football is definitely a shout tho.

I agree it would be hard not to keep him on if he does as you say. Not looking likely at this stage but there's still time. Got a hunch though that they'll have already decided it.

Him winning in style. Yesterday was his chance to lay down a marker and by all accounts he's came up short.

The two games in Edinburgh were different in that the priority were win first and foremost. But after a week on the training ground we should have been so much better than we were.

An extremely professional organisation costs money to run. Lawwell winning his battle with Rodgers is all the evidence you need that the club are not willing to pay for that level of professionalism.

I fear we will be looking at a major downgrade in ambition and professionalism next season -barring a catastrophic finish to this season. (If that happens we might see another of Desmond's panic moves.)

    Aye it was disappointing..

He has had a very short time this work with the squad, in the grand scheme of things and I would have taken two victories in Edinburgh and progress in the Scottish Cup and a draw v Aberdeen, beforehand.. writing those fixtures out makes Rodgers exit all the more disgraceful, considering his own record in Edinburgh.

But, much better is expected in Dundee.

I dunno man, I think it's easy to slate Lawwell and the board, we've all done it and do it still. But the 'strategy' (I know, sick hearing that word) has been in place since strachan coming in and the creation of the lennoxtown/st ninians system. It's all been geared towards becoming a professional European club as opposed to just playing in Scotland. Imo Lawwell and Desmon ultimately want the ten as much as we do, major downsizing would be too much of a risk.

Yeah I'd agree with the Dundee part, as I say there's time yet and I could obviously be wrong, but I don't think he's had as good a start as he'd hoped.

You don't think appointing Ronnie Deila as manager -a guy who was supposed to be an assistant -was an example of downsizing?

Were the banners over the empty seats evidence of ambition?

The only reason Rodgers was brought to the club was because Peter Lawwell's chosen guy lost to a lower division Hun team at Hampden, and Desmond felt insulted after the game.

That doesn't smack of professionalism to me, in all honesty.

No I think Ronny was more of a risk rather than deliberate downsizing. We're a lot closer to the Ten now though and I think there won't be a repeat of that. The way it's went with the rats exit and the madness it's caused, the suits know fine well they have to make a bold move. But more importantly one that is progressive and fits with the structures that have been put in place over the last two year.
