Over the last week I saw a few Ladybirds . It seemed far too early for them to be out and about . Global warming/seasons moving etc could be the reason I suppose .

Yesterday afternoon Blackbirds were singing in numerous gardens,Spring is looming ever so closer. The weather next week looks very good with light winds, sunny and perfect for soaring Raptors and for first light action,so i should have a whole collection of cool sightings next week.
This morning on my local patch i heard and battled to get good views of a male Hawfinch, also 3 flew of atmosphere croaking Ravens flew over my house when me and Ruby Boxer got back.

I've continued seeing Ladybirds out and about , and a Bumblebee buzzed past my head today . Amazing to think that exactly a year ago ( this week ) we were suffering the worst effects of " The Beast From The East " . I couldn't drive to work because of drifting snow . The first time I've missed work due to the weather , and I'm in my 50's .

Over the last two days I've seen the first sightings of pairs of Oyster Catchers and also Lapwings . In this part of Scotland there is a saying " the Teuchat storm ". It refers to the last storm of the winter , and only that has passed will the Teuchats settle down into there scraped out nest , and lay their eggs . Teuchat is a local name for Lapwing .

Sitting in my car at The Fort, I was watching a Pied Wagtail going about it's business, then it flew off at some speed. Seconds later,a Sparrowhawk swooped to try and catch it. The Pied Wagtail just got away, but the speed of the 2 birds was breathtaking, and great to watch.

Local Caoati came to visit my room in Monteverde. He was missing an ear. The males roam by themselves while the females stay in groups.
