Anything really, just can't usually be arsed with anything pre-1990 or longer than 2 hours.

Watched that a couple of years ago on your recommendation and now it's one of the first I suggest if anyone ever asks me for a film :50:

Pretty sure I've seen that but I'm not sure so that goes in the 'will never watch' pile :giggle1:

You should enjoy The King of Comedy anyway. Bit of a mad film, one of my favourites from De Niro though and wouldn’t say that lightly.

Missing out on some really good stuff. Oh well, lol.

Good shout, though not necessarily an 'enjoyable' film persay. But mid 1980's... well that be the killer for @Slaw?

Decent flick mate yeah I've seen it.

I probably should have just left it at "anything really" :giggle1: Time will tell if I'll actually stick it on. I've downloaded Sling Blade too.

Went to see 'If Beale Street Could Talk', I was thoroughly enjoyng it until they rushed the ending. Everything up until then had been excellently done, but was really disappointed by that. Don't want to give too much away.

Right, I've assembled a new list. Will probably watch just over half of these, depending on what I'm fancying.

    Adrift
    Freedom Writers
    Green Room
    I Tonya
    Sling Blade
    Stand By Me
    The King Of Comedy
    Vanilla Sky
    White Boy Rick

Haven't seen any of them. Might go for Green Room first.

I haven’t seen any, except Vanilla Sky and Sling Blade. Sling blade is fantastic imo.

Green Book, I Tonya, Stand By Me and King of Comedy are essential.
Sling Blade and Adrift are both well worth the watch but not fllms I would time and time and time again, which I would with the above.

I, Tonya is my favourite of all those listed above. A big part of it is because of the way it is presented here, the writing and the acting are well done, with Margot Robbie, Aloson Janney and Sebastian Stan all very good. The soundtrack would seen misplaced but contextualized, is kinda fitting for Harding's own not quite being in step with what is up to date. What I like most however, is is how it plays with the idea of memory. of unreliable and conflicting narratives, in telling this story contextualized in the framework of existing in a world of judgement, both literal and figuratively, and raises questions, irrespective of empathizing wiht the Tonya Harding story or not.
