The similarities between the 2 are uncanny:
    • Signed from Dundee

    • Scottish

    • Won a Treble in their 1st season with Celtic

    • Love a clean sheet (Douglas had 19 clean sheets from 38 league games season 2000/01, Bain currently on 7 clean sheets from 7 league games in the current season 2018/19)

    • Unappreciated at international level prior to signing for Celtic (Douglas had 0 caps, ended with 19. Bain has 1 friendly cap, will surely go on to make the spot his own once the current old duffers retire)

    Naw.

Bain didn’t win treble mate he won the double last season.

He is a good goalie but we need a new experienced no1 I feel

Technically speaking he wasn't involved in the first half of the Double Treble so my point was correct.

For me he has fitted in like a glove (pun intended) and improved our play. Similar to when Douglas first came in.

Bain could absolutely be our no1, Valencia will be a big test as our players will have less time and space..

Douglas was a good shot stopper from time to time, but there's no comparison Bain is a modern all round sweeper keeper , Rab is nowhere near Bain be as well comparing Bain to Paddy Bonner.

Big Rab was very limited for a modern GK, a comparison with Gordon would be more apt.. both pish with the ball at feet.. tbf they are both from Dundee..

Tbf to you we've never had a Celtic GK so good on the ball, so there's no real companion with any previous GKs..

Rab helped us get to Seville tbf to him but once there, well that's history.

He was shot in the months following that game...by photographers as he lifted every single domestic trophy.

This is when he'll really have his shot stopping abilities tested
