Too easy to take what he brings for granted..

He certainly one who benefits from the competition currently in our squad.. tracking back and tackling too just need one of his speculative efforts to hit the net and you feel he will be absolutely flying..

Still don't think his approach play hasn't been close to what it was.

Think he's better off the ball than on it, if that makes sense. He needs to be making runs in and around the box more than picking it up on the wing. Burke is dragging defenders all over the place and Sinclair is getting more space and drifting into the box more, which suits him with his positioning inside the area.

You need to be on the ball to produce almost 100 goals in 2 and a bit seasons.

I just think he’s under rated and is the first guy to take unnecessary flak when the team are struggling as a whole.

Playing out of his skin recently and long may it continue. A lot of us have been critical and it is easy to single him out because of his wages and status as a player. We know what he can put on the table and lucky for Scotty so does Rodgers. He is now back to his best with consistency being key to his play.

Typical trying to be a smart * comment from yourself :bye1:

Fat Boyd is a born finisher so I don’t know where your logic is going?

Genuinely wasn’t a smart * comment, no need to get personal.

My logic is in my post that you replied to. I feel like he's better in and around the box than when he's out on the wing trying to go past people. He has a knack for finding himself in good goalscoring positions in the box.

I don't think he's a good winger, like Forrest, who will go by people with ease and stick a cross in. The best part of his game, for me anyway, is his runs into the box and finishing. That's why I think he's going through another good goalscoring spell just now with Burke being up top. Burke does a lot of unselfish running which drags defenders all over the place leaving Sinclair to get more space inside the box.

I know he can use his pace to go past players but he's too easily muscled off the ball, which leads to a lack of confidence in that part of his game at times. Which is why he can be so frustrating.

Why do folk find him so frustrating and not Forrest though? Sinclair is the one that’s providing far more goals for the team which is a wingers job.

For me personally, the thing that frustrates me about Sinclair is when he gets the ball wide, stops still, allows the opposition defenders to get back into their shape and then cuts in on his right foot and passes it sideways or backwards.

You can’t argue with the stats but I would like to see him switch it up at times and drive at the full back as he has the pace and ability to roast anyone domestically.

I agree completely. He's a good poacher, not so good I would start him up front but he drifts in unmarked at times from that left side, he did the same when he got his hat trick against Aberdeen.

Anywhere to find out touches per game or time in possession stats?

My thinking is that perhaps Sinclair sometimes gets a harder time because he sees more of the ball than others, so when he maybe does make a mistake or loses the ball it’s more noticeable?

Anyway, flying the now, long may it continue :36:
