Bitton isn't a bad player, but he's probably on a much higher wage than mulumbu, most likely 5th choice at midfield and fourth at CB and we could probably get a few million for bitton still, main reasons why i'd keep mulumbu over him.

It was a sensoble signing at the time. Experienced player, provides cover for our imperious captain, a role we seemingly lacked (McGregor has stepped up, granted) and a free agent. Was a perfect option after missing out on McGinn.

Who'd have predicted the rise of Christie? Or the emergence of McGregor as a deep lying midfield general?

Mulumbu has had his injury troubles too and has been a bit unlucky. A joke of a signing he was not. You can't say that about everyone who doesnt work out, especially when it males so much sense at the time

Hes 6th choice just now so not really arsed.

    Bitton will fill that spot.

I would still like him around, there are few I would want out the door before him.

I’d keep him just now with a lot of games coming up unless he’s pushing for the loan. Maybe back to Kilmarnock?

why are we looking to loan him out? surely it would be better for both if he leaves permanently ? If he isn't getting a look in now, he certainly won't be getting any game time next season.
I think the common sense thing then if it was seen as a short term cover wouldn't it be better to offer a 6 month or 1 year max contract deal, not 2 years... Swear we just like burning our money on player wages

I suppose, but punting him just over 4 months after signing him reeks of a panic buy. Waste of time and money. He’s not even completed a full 90 minutes for us.

I thought he looked a decent player but seems now our club buys players to loan out and replace them with loanees.

Not counting Bayo our transfer activity is getting worse by the minute.

Maybe signing him and the competition for places made mcgreggor and Christie better players, still think he could have been useful bit he probably wants game time so fair enough

    This signing looks silly now.

Signed on a two year deal, played about a handful of games and now getting shipped out on loan.

He looks to be behind Kouassi and Bitton in the peking order -unless one of them are moved out too - which beckons the question why did we sign him in the first place? It was Lawwells attenpt to try appease the support at the end of a horrendous transfer window.

He comes in and is brilliant for 6 months and then can sign for someone on a pre-contract...

Christie's rapid rise has curtailed his chances, nothing really more to it. He was flung in at the deep end in Europe and looked like a rabbit in the headlights, that's all he's really done 'wrong'.

As I said a few pages back in Scotland during the 2017/18 season the top 3 deep lying central midfielders in order where

    Scott Brown
    John McGinn
    Youssouf Mulumbu

    One is the Celtic captain
The other we tried to sign
    The next we did sign

Made sense at the time and as a few have said no-one and I mean no-one could have predicted what Ryan Christie would do this season!

Going on loan get game time come back summer see where we sit with midfielders.

A way of looking at it is thinking what if there was a serious season ending injury to Broony and/or someone else? We'd have been * and raging we didnt sign the guy that was excellent in the league and a free for cover.

Bitton should be one of the first out and Ntcham, for all his ability, is a heartless *.

Bitton has heart of a mouse also.

Ntcham plays better without brown in team 100% said it since this time last season!
