I will never not be amazed at Christie’s turnaround in such a short space of time so I couldn’t GAF what anyone said weeks or months ago! Including myself.

If anyone thought we’d be lamenting his loss to injury as a reason Hibs beat us a few weeks ago you should have been locked up for lunacy.

The change in him defies any sort of logic I’ve ever known, it’s not as if he’s an 18 year old gaining experience. It’s as if someone flicked a switch in his brain and suddenly he knows he’s good enough to be a Celtic player and is playing as such.

What makes the turnaround more astonishing is that it's not just domestic football where he's flourishing. It's Europe too. And whether we like it or not, that is the real benchmark for quality.

Though we weren't great against Salzburg on Thursday, I thought he was our best player until he went off. Same with his performance against Leipzig home and away.

There was loads of cut outs of the Austrian press after Salzburg and the atmosphere..

He was the 1 they were rating..

Glad it’s not as bad as firsts feared. Thought it was gonna be a lengthy one, hope he’s back and fit to start the 29th.

I think he will play some part against Dundee and Aberdeen tbh way Brendan is talking provided he doesn’t suffer a reaction

Just another wonder turnaround from Mr. Rodgers. RC, JF, CM and SB. What an (entirely Scottish midfield) that is.
    Amazing transposition from the guy.
Sooner he is back the better.

Agree, it's terrific news that he is almost back to fitness already but as we have home games against Motherwell and Dundee, it'll be an opportunity to ease him back without taking too many chances.

Rodgers also delivered good news on Ryan Christie’s ankle injury, with the midfielder able to do some light running.

The Scotland star was carried off against Salzburg last week but could make a swift comeback.

Rodgers said: “When Ryan was carried off, I feared the worst really.

“He came out of the stadium on crutches and went straight for the MRI scan. But that came up really positive and, in fairness to him, he’s thrown the crutches away now.

“Ryan is in such great form and doesn’t want it to end. But we have to be careful with him.

“He’s been out running on the grass and we will see how he goes for the rest of the week.”

Almost tempted to throw him in vs motherwell, but maybe that's being greedy.

Agree mostly but the change hasn't all been psychological. Not so long ago he was a technically talented young guy but was easily pushed off the ball. He's obviously put in some serious, serious graft in the gym and with the sports science staff to improve his physique to a level that you need in the modern game.

I can't remember specifically when but Tierney bulked up massively when he was out for a few months; it looks like Christie has done the same.

As you say the turnaround has been incredible. When Rodgers speaks about a desire to be better than what you currently are, Tierney and Christie are perfect examples of that.

We've seen it all before were guys like Tony Watt broke into the first-team but then put in no graft to get even better. You could even say the same for Ntcham at the moment, all talent, zero motivation to improve.

Best news so far this season that his injury isn't as bad as feared. I was thinking season ender in all honestly.

When it happened I though * that is a broken leg he is done for the season. So the fact he might be back by Saturdays game is just brilliant news even more so with Rogic carrying that knee injury.

I hope they don’t bring Ryan back too quickly.

It’s great news his injury isn’t serious but bringing him back too quickly could bite us in the *.

I doubt very much management would risk rushing him back into action, as long as he is ready for the 29th I will happily wait until then.

Don’t think we need him tonight would give him some game time vs Dundee at CP next time out and then start vs the Sheep and Huns away.
