Bruce was a super interesting dude and his story is well worth the telling.

It would be difficult to properly nail all his exploits in one movie though. Bring on the Bannockburn flick Speilberg!!!

Interesting Bruce fact - he was the real 'Braveheart'. He instructed James Douglas to cut out his heart after his death, and carry it into battle and then on to the Holy Land. Douglas did this up till his death in battle against Moors in Spain. Douglas's body and Bruce's heart were returned to Scotland, and the heart was interred at Melrose Abbey (where it remains today).

Ben Foster was originally meant to play Douglas (reunion of Director and 2 leads of '* or High Water').

No idea why they switched to Aaron Taylor-Johnston, but he put in a good shift. Reminded me of The Brooney!

Just finished this about an hour ago. Really enjoyed it. Agree with the others, Douglas was a maniac. :giggle1:

Just watched this, thought it was really good, a lot better than I was expecting, wee tear in my eye at the end of the battle.

Apart from "the Douglas" thought it was a bit *, felt like a low budget Braveheart , a shame as was looking 4ward to it

I liked it. We're really starved for war films. I enjoyed the action scenes, but nothing too memorable about it. The historical changes threw me a bit, too.

Good film, acid test for me these days - never picked up my phone once.

Not perfect by any means but a good watch.

I didn't like it, in fairness to the film, I fell asleep during it but from what I can remember, I wasn't impressed at all....should maybe give it another go but I don't feel compelled enough to do so.
