Robert the Bruce film without any mention of Bannockburn! Decent enough but could have been soooo much better

    I thought it was excellent.
Chris Pine does a really credible job with Scottish accent, quite impressed there, not at all cringey.
Cant't wait for the sequel - Bannockburn - and the prequel - Wallace! :D

    It's on Netflix.

Hope they make a sequel with Bannockburn.

Na it is a good film and if anything it shows the No voters that going for Yes can be done and will be done but takes time, courage, battles, loyalty and honour.A lot of No people, countless English and others just think of The Bruce as the man who won Bannockburn, but my * there is so so much more to him and his struggle will inspire us Yes hordes and make many a No person think.
The Battle of Loudoun Hill was beyond important, had he lost that the Scotland we know would almost certainly not be here now. That battle gave Bruce and his followers the belief to go all the way and of course not the biggest battle but one that is heavily overlooked.
Yes,i love that word:60: Anyway yes i enjoyed the film, one half of me wished it could have been 3 hours instead of 2 for obvious reasons, but the 2 worked pretty well.I pray for a sequel that does highlight the Big Famous battle or perhaps somebody else will do a Cinema Blockbuster Bannockburn.

The Outlaw King worked as it shows the time when he was regarded by the English as just that and my * he was more than that and boy did they find out!"!

I thought it was excellent however I'm hoping there is a sequel to it, I'll be disappointed if Bannockburn isn't in a movie for another long time

At first I was thinking they were setting it up for a second movie but then continued to tell us in writing what happened still a good film but could always have been better

agree, would have loved it have gone longer, as you say the obvious conclusion being Bannockburn - even without an awful lot was crammed into what there was and I think even the story so far was quite condensed.
Maybe with popularity sequel could become possibility - lot depends on how well it does in Global market I suppose

Another story I'd like to see (as a Dunfermline boy :D) would be Malcolm Canmore & Queen/Saint Margaret

Meh. Was ok but coulda been soo much better. Wonder how accurate it is too, from what I remember when doing it in school, it’s not.
Not mentioning Bannockburn was criminal, but maybe that’s another film entirely.

It's actually Saoirse Ronan (of Ladybird fame) with Margot Robbie (Tonya - ya bas!) as Queen Lizzie I

Our very own Bhoy Martin Compston as Bothwell :50:

The end of the battle of Loudon hill turned a fantastic film into good one for me.

I'd still love to see a sequel.
