Saw it on the news this morning. Absolutely abhorrent how she's been treated. Loads of guys marching the streets with signs saying she should be hung. Disgusting.

There are a few troubling aspects to this case. Firstly, this woman has spent eight years of her life in solitary confinement on death row for something of which she has now been found innocent. The evidence was unreliable, contradictory and possibly fabricated. It should never have taken eight years to reach that conclusion. Secondly, the sight of tens of thousands of people rioting and demanding her death is sickening. Thirdly, the government's climbdown in the face of those violent protests is abhorrent. By doing so, it has completely subverted the courts and endorsed mob rule.

At least two government ministers have already been murdered for expressing sympathy for her case. Sadly, the woman and her family will probably never be safe from vigilante groups either at home or abroad.

Her lawyer also had to flee the country after death threats, I’ve seen a good few people calling out Khan on twitter over this saying he is basically giving in to extremists.

Including his ex wife Jemima. Isn’t she a lawyer or something?
Khan is a snake. Jemima has said as much regarding him in the past. He will continue to allow this sort of * to happen - in fact he is probably in agreement with it.

Her lawyer deserves a huge amount of credit for taking her case. Made himself an instart target for extremists. That took real guts as I'm sure there wasn't a queue of lawyers looking to take it on.

Khan's stance is interesting. I know he appealed for calm but I don't think he publicly supported the courts. That was disappointing. I don't think Pakistan will ever become secular.

Pakistan has constantly come up in topics as one of the main dangers to world stability, and when you see scenes like this and some of the * that happens in Kashmir it’s easy to see why.

Takes a load of Western money and yet there are suspicions that some of its military have colluded with the Taliban. Seems really volatile state with extremists dictating a lot of what goes on there.

I know Trump is a * but that’s exactly the reason he cut their aid. Though that’s totally hypocritical given their record of supporting terrorist groups.

Might be wrong but I think it has nuclear weapons. Even more reason to be concerned.

Don't get me started on US. Was there a country in South or central America where they weren't involved? Total hypocrites. They are still covertly funding terrorists - groups and states.

They have helped collapse the economy of Venezuela, it just so happens they have the worlds biggest oil reserves. And Iran also on their hit list.

I’d be surprised if he is actually in agreement. Khan is part of the world hierarchy through his cricket career and political tenure. He’d be happy to go with whatever keeps him in power and hence keep the dirty money rolling. That’s why he is a *. The social class system in these countries are still lagging behind by 70 years and the rise in anti Christian feeling has heightened any advance stability and structure in a intolerant society. We do get a bad rep for being a racist society here but I think that is because we are so far down the road in multi cultural living. Unlike countries in the Middle East and Asia.

Not a lot he can do, he’s only the Prime Minister after all.
