Good, but I was underwhelmed. Unfortunately, the wife saw it when it came out so had more or less told me what happened and I’d also heard most of the songs from it too by now.

So I didn’t really ‘feel’ it as much as I think I would have watching it blind. Cooper is very good I must say, very versatile actor. Lady Gaga’s singing and songwriting is excellent.

Went to see it today with the kids. My daughter is a big Harry Potter fan.

I thought the first fantastic beasts was average and so was this

Equalizer 2 was a decent watch. Love how Denzel just floats about never coming to any harm and just relentlessly smashes * :giggle1:

Osha * they've left 10 seconds ago I'm oota here. Caught.

I'm looking forward to seeing this, wasn't so keen on Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, but this one is supposed to be brilliant.

I think you need to enjoy Harry Potter and have a knowledge of the history to enjoy it.

Fantastic Beasts II - Crimes of Grindelwald

A mess. A confusing mess. I admittedly am a fan of the HP books and films, but have been left underwhelmed by both Fantastic Beasts films, and this one in particular was increasingly confused and muddled. Maybe JK Rowling should concentrate on writing novels and let someone else come along with the film treatment and scripts, because there are problems here.

Considering that there is supposedly an entire series of films still to be made in this series, this could be pivotal because as it stands this dog has too many fleas and lacks all of the coherency of the HP franchise, What made those so good was that all of the books and films work easily well as stand alone efforts as they did in telling an overarching story. So far the Fantastic Beasts series are being sacrificed at the alter of the end product but unless something is done to course correct, the truth is, it may not even get to the end of this proposed series and if it does, how many prospective audiences will have been alienated before then?

I couldn't disagree any more with the above review.

The main plot points link well and are straightforward to follow. The usual mystery of the Harry Potter world is evident throughout (a hallmark of Rowling's writing and one of the things that makes it so appealing).

The character development of Newt Scalamander is great, in my opinion and I think that it stands up as a film in its own right. You could easily go to see this, and enjoy it, without having seen the first one.

Haven't seen Fantastic Beasts 2 yet but the reviews, from Harry Potter and non-HP fans, have been extremely mixed. I enjoyed the first one, albeit I'm not a fan of Eddie Redmayne. Constantly sounds like he's whispering.

Saw it the other day, thought it was a meh kind of movie. Its called the Crimes of Grindelwald and he doesn't actually commit that many crimes, he leaves his henchmen to do all the nasty work (from what I remember):giggle1:
