Consistency at what? Not saving a shot at his near post? Karate kicking opponents? Kicking the ball out? Kicking the ball at the opponent? For 3 years consistently the worst shot stopper in European football? Really why are you glad we have him? He's *. Stats don't lie.

Best you have ever saw? Given Boruc and Forster turned in genuine world class performances on the top European stage against some of the best teams in the world, how on earth you can say that with a straight face is beyond me.

For me, it's a toss up between Gordon and Stewart Kerr for the best I've saw.

Worst shot stopper in European football? Aye right, lol.

It's my opinion, and it's laughable even to start with his kicking, he's like Xavi compared to Forster and Boruc, ffs.

As I said if I had to choose over consistency for me it's Gordon, Forster was absolute pants at the start and actually towards the end, had a great in between , Boruc was unbelievable at the start but in the end was a total liability.

And tbh there hasn't been too many greats, Packie I loved but I'd have Boruc and Gordon above him IMHO.

Rangers seemed to sign gk after gk and we signed liabilities it was that bad I was raging when we let Broto out our grasps.

Aye right?? Well it's no lies.

3 years ago, in Deila’s final season, he recorded the worst shots to save % of any keeper in the entire Europa League group stage.
That season, he faced fewer shots than any other keeper in our group, yet conceded more goals than any other keeper in our group.

Over two games with Molde, he conceded 5 goals from 7 shots.
Over two games with Ajax, he conceded 4 goals from 5 shots.
Fenerbahce I won’t dwell on, as the figures are skewed by his dropping a long punt into the box and gifting one of Brendan’s Anfield flops a tap in.

Into the next season, and having eff up royally in qualifiers against Astana and Beer Sheva he got dropped for our opening CL fixture away to Barca.
He got back in purely because his replacement was garbage.

Last season saw him concede 12 goals from 17 shots against PSG.
This season: 3 from 4 shots vs Athens, 3 from 6 vs Salzburg, and 2 from 4 last night.

As I’ve pointed out many times before, over the course of our two matches with Barca in 2012, Fraser Forster saved 22 of the 25 shots he faced.
In the playoff that year with Helsingborgs, he saved all 18 of the shots he faced across the two ties.

Somehow you rate Gordon above him. *.

Copied from the Gordon thread. Stats don't lie. He is pish.

    Oh also

First shot conceded against Ajax away
First two shots conceded v Fener home
First two shots conceded v Molde away
First two shots conceded v Ajax home
First shot conceded v Red Imps away
First shot conceded v Astana home
First two shots conceded v Beer Sheva home
First shots conceded home and away to PSG
First shot conceded v Bayern home
First shot conceded v AEK home
First two shots conceded v Leipzig aw

He is pish. The team we are need someone who will save a * shot and keep us in the game. Right now we are going into Europe down 1 or 2 goals straight away nearly every game.

Parallels with Chelsea taking him and their desire for Gordon to be their third choice.
Should have bit their hand off for that one and gave costil a massive signing bonus.

I like his composure on the ball and his passing ability from the back but although hes not cost us any goals or anything he looks a bit too wee for a keeper so im skeptical if he will be good enough at saving the ball.

Taller than class keepers like Barthez and both Gorams.

Height doesn’t mean a lot, modern football has plenty examples of that now.

Wee keepers tend to be a bit quicker though like Barthez, Navas, Casillas or Ter Stegen. Although Bain is smaller he doesnt seem that agile or quick but im not too sure as he's not been tested much and i've not seen enough of him.

Give me 6ft keeper who commands his box, has awareness of danger with our fullbacks being pressed and has good distribution with his feet over... a 6'4 shitebag that stays rooted to his line for crosses, regularly puts us under pressure with poor decision-making and regularly hits the ball straight out of play.
