He deffo dived too early. Done same v England and numerous other's..

    I find him infuriating..

Watch the first 15 back and everytime he got it or they'd come at us and the camera panned away for 1 sec, he'd already released it. We're with a weakened side away in Leipzig after getting pumped last game...keep the thing..

Then we got 2 down and he's all foot on the ball taking his time..

    Balloon of a guy..

I really am starting to dislike him, same with penalties his weak * wee dive to the side is embarrassing. Time to give Bain a chance.

The incredible save is pretty pointless when the game is finished and he's already conceded 2 soft goals. He's just not a good keeper anymore. Any successful European campaign we've always had our keeper bail us out and keep us in the game, Gordon always seems to concede by the first or second shot on target, this side don't have the mentality to come back so we'll always struggle to make any progress whilst he's our number 1.

He seems to keep his best saves for the highight reel when we're 2-0 up against Hamilton, not when it's 0-0 in Europe. Like a few others, this has to be his last season.

    Taken from another forum:

3 years ago, in Deila’s final season, he recorded the worst shots to save % of any keeper in the entire Europa League group stage.
That season, he faced fewer shots than any other keeper in our group, yet conceded more goals than any other keeper in our group.

Over two games with Molde, he conceded 5 goals from 7 shots.
Over two games with Ajax, he conceded 4 goals from 5 shots.
Fenerbahce I won’t dwell on, as the figures are skewed by his dropping a long punt into the box and gifting one of Brendan’s Anfield flops a tap in.

Into the next season, and having eff up royally in qualifiers against Astana and Beer Sheva he got dropped for our opening CL fixture away to Barca.
He got back in purely because his replacement was garbage.

Last season saw him concede 12 goals from 17 shots against PSG.
This season: 3 from 4 shots vs Athens, 3 from 6 vs Salzburg, and 2 from 4 last night.

As I’ve pointed out many times before, over the course of our two matches with Barca in 2012, Fraser Forster saved 22 of the 25 shots he faced.
In the playoff that year with Helsingborgs, he saved all 18 of the shots he faced across the two ties.

When you’re in Europe, you need your goalkeeper to dig you out of a hole.
    Gordon usually makes it deeper.

Yes there were defensive blunders leading to the Leipzig goals last night, but both finishes were straight at him.
He dived out of the way for the first (not a first for him- see Molde’s second in Norway), and the second goes clean through him.

Of course, save %s don’t tell the full story.
Following the second goal last night, Neil Jung jokingly predicted that Gordon would make a save that would have folk posting ‘it would have been worse but for Gordon.’
Needless to say, he was spot on.
It wasn’t a bold prediction, however, as it’s the pattern of most of our European matches.
He’s like an old motor that takes a while to heat up.

    Look:
First shot conceded against Ajax away
First two shots conceded v Fener home
First two shots conceded v Molde away
First two shots conceded v Ajax home
First shot conceded v Red Imps away
First shot conceded v Astana home
First two shots conceded v Beer Sheva home
First shots conceded home and away to PSG
First shot conceded v Bayern home
First shot conceded v AEK home
First two shots conceded v Leipzig away

You can’t claim this team lacks fight and resistance while excusing a goalkeeper who consistently delivers failure.

Put simply, had Gordon been our keeper under Strachan and Lennon we would not have qualified for the Last 16- *, we might not even have qualified for the group stage.

That certainly makes for very interesting reading.

The question though, is whether Bain is the answer?

He's not even a shot stopper. He'd need to save shots for that.

His goals conceded to games ratio must be ridiculous last two seasons

Gordon can get a wrist to a header from 6 inches away. That's it. That's literally all he does.

Oh aye.. and * the clubs on camera talent.
