It's probably all nonsense but rumors that Khabib has tested positive. Another one is that Conor's family were threatened before the fight.

It’s Conor fanboys taking the defeat to heart.

    Absolute embarrassments.

It's hard to imagine that it's anything other than what you just said.

Just need to search ‘Khabib positive’ on twitter and look at the * tweeting it.

    * with pictures of them with their kids as their avatar and everything. Brutal patter. Honestly surprised they’ve not started a petition to get Khabib stripped.

Just take the defeat and move on. It’s MMA everyone loses.

It’s not as ridiculous as a rematch for McGregor though. Literally the only reason they’ve got for it is money.

If they had any balls they’d tell McGregor to have a couple of fights at 155 against contenders if he wants Khabib that bad. Absolutely zero chance of it happening though.

    Either be Khabib/McGregor or Khabib/Tony and McGregor/Diaz at 155.

McGregor isn't as predictable as that. He's shown interest in the Silva and GSP matches but I personally think when they sit down and plot their next move, despite wanting Khabib again badly, he should really have a tune up fight and get a win under his belt.

They're all crawling out from under their rocks just now, you've got Lee and RDA picking a fight with Danis and I don't doubt for a second that if Khabib's pal is allowed to stay and fights and beats Artem he'll be calling out Conor as well.

Ultimately be a bit of time before they start match making with him.

A rematch will happen for purely monetary reasons, which unfortunately seems to be the sole driver of the UFC at times.

Realistically, if a challenger loses conclusively and convincingly to a champion, a rematch shouldn’t be on the cards unless that challenger goes away and earns another one.

I actually respect Conor for chasing one though. Few people would fancy his chances after what we witnessed last week and it’s a high risk fight for him (in saying that....most viable fights are high risk for him just now). He needs to get his swagger back, and beating Khabib is the quickest, and possibly only, way of doing that.

Don’t think it was ever in any doubt he would pursue an instant rematch.

He’s in the exact same spot as he was after Diaz I, only difference is Nate didn’t have a belt round his waist.

    Who’s a tune up fight at 155 that isn’t a massive * risk though?

The only ‘tune up’ fight I see him taking is Diaz at 155, that’s probably the easiest fight for him at Lightweight just now. He should fight someone in the top 7/8 but everyone there will give him a war if he doesn’t knock them out early.

Gaethje or Pettis would be ideal. They’re both hittable and the fights will be entertaining as *. But I think it’s simply to big of a risk to Conor now to try have a serious run at 155.

Not even criticising Conor for it either, there’s no need for him to after banking 100m and being the biggest star. I’ve always had a feeling he wants to get out as early and as healthy as possible.

    Which should be applauded.

Gaethje and Pettis would both be excellent fights stylistically.

If he wanted out early last weekend wouldn’t have happened! Which is good for any of his potential opponents, good for the UFC and good for the fans.

I still think he wants out early just not right now. I’ll be absolutely * shocked if he finishes his current contract (6 fights).

I didn’t think he’d come back after Mayweather either to be fair :giggle1:

GSP, Diaz III and a Khabib rematch or 155 title shot and I think that’ll be him in all honesty.

Love how bad Khabib feels about letting his Da and his coaches down.

Khabib/DC pound for pound best bromance in MMA history.

I don’t know the ins and outs of it but according to Ariel Helwani and Chael Sonnen the ‘6 fight Contract’ is a pile of nonsense as was his last one, means nothing. They’ll keep getting redone after each fight.

I don’t understand it but they were certain. I presume he could just ‘retire’ and return.

The best thing about Chael fighting is that this video always pops up :57:

The contracts really just stop him from going to another organisation to fight, do they not?

Next 6 fights have to be with the UFC, even if he retires and comes back 5 years from now?

Obvs signed it for a pay rise as well.

Amazing what your mouth can do in MMA!

In fairness to him, what a performance against Silva at 117.
