That’s 18 months we’ve been playing, get 2 courts and alternate between doubles and singles.

Singles is a slog for an hour!

Yeah, started in Naples, essentially when those who could afford to would order a caffè sospeso and when someone who couldn’t afford a coffee, as you say a homeless person, asked for one there would be one ‘available’ for them.

Has kinda become a token touristy thing to do now which takes a bit away from the meaning but it’s still a great idea.

Watching a thing on Netflix about it.

They call it “pay it forward” in America. Saw a programme that showed a lassie working in a drive thru of a burger place, asking customers if they wanted to pay it forward to the car behind them. The money of the folk that did pay it forward, went in her pocket.

Scumbag. I'm fortunate enough to be in a position to buy a bit extra to donate to food banks when I'm doing my shopping. It's a cause that really gets to me. I hate hearing how exploitative people can be.

@dalbeth3 I try and buy a mix of staples (beans, chopped tomato, tinned fruit/veg, pasta etc) with "luxury" products (biscuits, crisps, fajita/enchilada kit, pizza bases, jars of curry sauces, hervs/spices/salt/pepper) because I'm sure people who need to use food banks are grateful for basics, I can imagine it's bleak living on plain tomato pasta etc.

I buy toiletries and tampons/sanitary towels plus things like bubble bath, especially kids stuff.

It's a disgrace they're still needed in 2018 but thank Christ we have them.
