Aye, too much publicity, victims are named. Which they shouldn’t be. I agree neither should be revealed, the victim should never be revealed and the accused only if found guilty.

 

There’s an argument to be had, that people coming forward, could help prevent further cases of this happening. If people who have been raped aren’t afraid to come forward then less people will think they can get away with it. I’ve also seen the argument that public awareness helps fight rape culture.

There’s an argument that for justice to prevail & to encourage other victims to come forward, you should let the authorities decide if guilty, not take a hush payment.

Probably comes from most on here being male and having the fear of being falsely accused. Innocent lives are ruined the instant a false accusation is made and it's a fear that's exclusive to men.

Most of us have female friends and family, most of us also sadly know somebody who has been sexually abused and the attitudes that they face. I’m sure when it happens to somebody close to you (and that’s not a specific you btw it’s general) the attitude completely changes.

When it’s a stranger and a famous man though? People seem to turn into those * with the attitude.
