Not seeing this one on his Twitter? What does it's over mean? His drama, hopefully.

The more i read into it i think he never wanted to leave and instead Lawwell was trying to punt him... Someone suggested that the other day.

He's liking posts about being betrayed by the board/Rodgers, isn't playing because he's not in the right frame of mind and went to the game with his agent.

We wants to go to Lyon, simple as that.

Apart from the reference to Larsson, I completely agree.

I think Rodgers has been given far more control over transfers than recent managers. Under Lennon or Deila, both Boyata and Dembele would have been sold by the board for the type of fees being mentioned. Gordon as well in January. But they've allowed Rodgers the final say, and the risk is you end up with unhappy players. And like you say, on the other side of things, the Rodgers/Congerton combo doesn't exactly seem great at identifying suitable targets.

As much as I like Dembele, I don't think we need him to manage another treble, and if he is going to be another unhappy player around the place then for the sake of the team it's probably best he moves on.

Mate, if the board wanted to sell Dembele.. he'd be gone. You really think Dembele is kicking up a fuss because Celtic are trying to punt him to one of his home nations biggest clubs?

What do we have to offer him? 4 games against the huns and a few Europa League games? Lyon will double his wages, he will play UCL football, play with better players and, importantly, play for a club who have a bit of a reputation of developing strikers with Benzema, Lacazette, Mariano all getting big moves recently.

Out-with those above Lyon over the years had forwards like Sonny Anderson, Lisandro Lopez, Fred, Wiltord, Govou, Fekir and even * like Carew, Jimmy Briand who have all gone on to become international and established top division players.

That's the aim for Moussa, I'd go as far as saying Lyon is the perfect move for him. He'd be in a French squad by his 5th goal.

he was probably told by Rodgers that he would be allowed to leave the club when a big bid came in for him and now the bid has came in, celtic have rejected the offer and now he is in a huff. No point having players that don't want to be here, the club holding players to ransom is never a smart idea- we lose out on money/ or they stay and spread a toxic attitude into the team. It seems to be Rodgers making promises to players and not keeping his word and why would he want to sell his best players when the board will not invest the money back into the squad. Dembele going to the french league is probably a smarter move for himself than the over-rated epl, and we will get a better sell on fee when Lyon/Marseille sell him on.

I see what you mean but it is weird, he made no inclination before, and suddenly he is like this, hopefully he is just at the trolling.

Clearly exactly what's happened. His first discussions with Celtic will have been about coming in for his what is now known as a Celtic "Cycle", completing that cycle and being moved on ala VVD, Wanyama, Forster.

The problem is the timing. Lyon have come in with hours left of the window trying to take our best forward, off the back of a Hearts defeat, being pumped out of the UCL and a hugely disappointing window. To compound that with selling Dembele this late on would cause pandemonium, whatever * think about the board, they want to avoid this as much as possible.

Had he been sold on the first of June of £20+ million quid, there would of been no complaints from the majority. Edouard would of come in, another striker would of joined, happy days. Now because Edouard isn't seen as a direct replacement, and we have struggled in front of goal, the whole ball game has changed.

That's because this has came so late on in the window. Lyon just sold their striker - they need a replacement and are coming at us.

Had no one come in for Dembele, there would probably be no issue. But they have, and it's a big club from Dembele's perspective.
