There was a time he was arguably our best player. He had an absolutely outstanding game in the 3-3 with Inter at Parkhead.

There's a player there. Not willing to write him off. McGregor and Forrest of the current crop have been written off by the majority at one point.

Way down the pecking order in midfield.

But I was pleasantly surprised (shocked rather) to find he was a decent centre half. He's a good passer and is very calm on the ball. At home in the league he's of value. Today for example, he'd have been great to bring the ball out from the back. He played well in the qualifiers last year and against Bayern at home. I'd have him there before Lustig, Hendry and at this moment in time arguably Simunovic.

He's never going to be suited to playing midfield in this team though. The pressing isn't his style or strength. But if his money isn't outrageous he's good back up for 2 positions.

Why does he get so much hate? Decent player who likes the club and always speaks highly of us, been here for a good while now and seems like one of the most liked guys in the squad.

People often say it's just because he is from Israel, but that's not the case because Kayal was a fan favourite when he was here. Nir posted something on instagram around 4 years ago about supporting Israel's attacks in Palestine which was quickly taken down. Think he has changed his views a bit since he has been here and is now going with the 'don't mix football with politics' view'- a bit hypocritical isn't it. Now he has been injured for 7 months and some are probably a bit * off that he is still at the club picking up a wage. Decent back-up and is a better option in the midfield than eboue kouassi, still questionable if he can play the CB role in europe though.

Good back up for midfield and defence. Also a goal threat from set pieces

Kayal came from a Palestinian background though. It's a controversial opinion perhaps, but I believe that even if Nir didn't put that Instagram post up, there would still be a portion of our fans that wouldn't take to him, specifically because he's Israeli...

He’s upped his game tremendously this last couple of months, he’s just behind Ajer now. :60:
Just shows what hard work & dedication can do with top class coaching as well.

Because some in the support are pure rebels who don't want Bitton's 'type' at Celtic.

Meanwhile, the Tory party wine and dine unchallenged above the Brother Walfrid statue.

I got thrown out of a pub last night for getting a little bit heated during an argument with an Israeli fella about Palestine, had to be dragged off him in the end...
Still love big Bitton though :100:

Your choice of language is telling.

    What type is that?

    That is patently untrue.

It’s been done to death on here so I won’t go there, but what this weekend more than ever has shown is some fans won’t just support you even if wearing our jersey. If that makes me and the rest that won’t lesser fans in their eyes then so be it.

The whole Tory party Terry May included, I think you’re being a tad facetious here.

Far too lightweight and abolutely useless in the air. Decent passer on the ball but needs space and time.
The fact that some are looking for his return to the team is a reflection of the lull that we find ourselves in.

Our centre halves get that though domestically. Particularly at home. But apart from Ajer they don't have a clue what to do with it.

Again, he's Israeli, and the President asks for a photo. I'm not surprised he didn't say no. Neither do I think Mesut Ozil is a committed Erdoganist.
