Knew this was a non starter by all accounts, judging from what JD has said over the years he doesn't want to be here.

This was never happening. He wants huge wages (by our standards) and seems to want to stay in Turkey.

A new goal for Turin, the company of President Cairo has identified in Jason Denayer the right reinforcement for his defense department. First contacts started with Manchester City , club owner of the '95 class card, requested by the grenade with the formula of the loan with the right of redemption. The 'citizens' response is expected in the next few hours.

SCOTT BROWN SCOTT BROWN HE'S THE LEADER OF THE CELTIC
Torino’s attempt to sign Jason Denayer on loan from Manchester City has been complicated by the emergence of Scottish champions Celtic making a play for their former loan player, according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia.

The Italians have asked City for 23-year-old Denayer on loan with an option to buy, but according to Di Marzio, Celtic are pushing to sign the Belgian, who spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Parkhead.

Reports from Turkey have consistently stated that Denayer only has eyes for a move to Galatasaray, though the Turkish press have been known to exaggerate or even outright fabricate stories, and Di Marzio makes no mention of Galatasaray in his latest article.

Denayer has been loaned out four times by City, twice to Galatasaray, once to Celtic (his first loan away), and once to Sunderland. He has already won the Scottish Premiership and Turkish Süper Lig in his young career but appears to have no future at the Etihad Stadium.

City value Denayer at €10million (£9million) but with transfer windows across Europe drawing to a close, may have to lower the fee or sanction a fifth loan move for the defender, who is out of contract in 2020.

It would appear we are in the mix for him, but his wages will be a stumbling block

I would actually be honest and say if you got £9m for Boyata who does not want to play I would say the £9m for Denayer is worth it although I think you could get him for less. Boyata wants to be at Celtic even less than Denayer does.

Big bid and big wage offer. We need him. We apparently haven't scouted any other targets (Rodgers saying there "wouldn't be time" to find a Boyata replacement), so- especially if Boyata goes- we need someone we already know well.

Agreed I don't understand it at all, but apparently that's where we are.

Only options now will be people we are familiar with (somebody like Denayer) or somebody we play against in the league (McKenna or Caulker). Denayer is the only acceptable option out of those for me.

Isn't the English window shut? (I know you can loan players). 25k p/w apparently - not unfeasible. Could do loan with option to buy. Perfect/better replacement for Boyata. Possibly hinges on tonight though.

I wish the * * press would elaborate more as soon as Rodger says not enough time I'd reply well br the rumors were back in Jan that boyata wasn't signing and wanted a move away so at the very least you had start of the window to make moves * happened.... Their should be no excuses really

I haven't really believed any of the * the media writes with regard to us and our transfer rumours 90% is pure bile but if we are willing to spend 8 mill on a player id love it to be a centre half but I'd also love it to be a centre half that actually wants to play for us. No sense splashing any money on a player who will go through the moody motions when it's raining in Inverness.

Having said that what I seen of this big lad in a hooped top he was very good.

I'd take Caulker and Denayer. Caulker could be signed today and he'd be here in two hours. Or he could end up at castle greyskull. It's really Sevco that have been linked with him.
