Heard from others at the game that it happened. Also some pubs weren't allowing Celtic fans in if they had colours on.

I've been telling people for years on here that Dublin is full of the so called West Brits. Liverpool, Man Utd, etc are the big teams supported by the new brigade of soccer supporters. The Irish connection with Celtic is from other parts of the country and again that is not as strong as years ago.

Strange that Marie because my cuz and 3 of his mates were at the Liverpool game in Dublin and he was saying when I phoned him earlier tonight that there were loads of pubs in Dublin letting both sets of fans into their pubs, especially Liverpool fans,he told me he's never gonna step inside either pub ever again.

Totally correct, I was in Cork a few years ago and not once did I see anyone wearing a Celtic top.
    Man Utd shirts galore though.

Not ideal if the Irish fanbase is dwindling.

I'm in Spain this week but two mates have passed on this story regarding Murray's cancelling the gig by Gary and the Rebels.
Loads of English in Dublin city centre this weekend getting the plastic paddy welcome. And the actual paddys getting turfed out to accommdate them.
Especially if you've a Celtic top on. I hate the city centre, avoid it whenever I can. Some of the * we've taken in pubs because of wearing the colours gets me wound up even now just thinking on it.
Dublin is turning into no place for a Celt.

Dublin is not Ireland. Its a rancid ovepriced west Brit shithole where english tourists are treated like royalty and any Irish accent thats not dub is looked upon as inferiror ...and everybody on the island thats NOT from Dublin knows this

The first time I wen to Dublin on the lash the first bar we went to we were asked to leave because the manager heard our northern accents and "didnt ant any trouble"

it was me and my girlfriend

For years Celtic took the Irish fan base for granted....Celtic have only started to travel again to Ireland the last few years....meanwhile English clubs play friendlies regularly here, they went on a major PR offensive 20 years ago and it's paid dividends for them.
Celtic need to play in other irish cities also.

That’s pure shocking mate, sorry to hear this, I haven’t been over in a few years as I also found it had become too much of of a magnet for the weekend cuntfests and the usual stag, hen party, middle class English * crowd who you quite rightly state seem to be the type they are desperate to swamp the city with whilst looking down on the natives, mind you that’s the only type of folk who could afford or be attracted to anywhere in the region of Temple Bar I suppose.

I went to a game at Anfield v Crystal Palace early last season, I’d say there was easily more Irish accents outside than at Celtic Park...no different at Old Trafford

Should go back to pre-season friendlies with Cliftonville and leave the likes of Dublin to it's sad illusions of grandeur as the epicentre of English football.

Just like everywhere else in the world kids in Dublin are force fed the over-hyped circus that is the English Premier League, mainly by SKYSPORTS. The SPFL is poorly covered and in comparison appears far less appealing so the kids end up supporting English teams, the media machine is to blame for this.

The thing is, I see a lot of it even in Scotland.

When I was younger around my bit, it was kids everywhere in Dundee Utd / Dundee kits or Celtic / Huns, then your token Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs etc.

Nowadays they all have Chelsea, Liverpool, Barca, Madrid. You don’t even see Italian or German.

Even guys my age, they will still be Dundee Utd fans but all they talk about is the game on Monday night football or Super * Sunday. On Thursday at work you hear * saying “oh aye, Spurs are the 4pm kick off on Sunday” - how can you even be arsed knowing that?!
