7 million is buttons in epl.
We should be aiming for 10plus.
Poor deal for us again who was key member off the team.
Not be easy to replace him.

McGinn is 23, Armstrong is 26. One is wanted by EPL teams, the other is being linked with Sunderland in League One.

Armstrong had pace and a directness that our other midfielders don't have. Granted that's not always what's needed, Ntcham and Broony complement each other brilliantly. McGinn is not in the mould of Armstrong, end of.

I don't know he won't hold his own. That's kind of my point. I don't want an SPL level, young, unproven player. I want a quality, experienced replacement.

I'm not against signing McGinn btw, could prove to be a very useful addition to the squad in the coming years. But he's simply not a replacement and he doesn't get a game for us at the moment.

Have to agree with you. We had been robbed with them 2. But again it was clever business from Southampton. This time we have the much better deal

He isn’t worth 10 million, even disregarding the fact he can sign for someone for * all in 6 months.

Okay 3 years between them then, a few seasons under Brendan and learning from Broony would see him improve just like Armstrong and McGregor have for example.

Have you seen McGinn play? He has plenty pace and is direct in terms of running with the ball dragging his team up the pitch. He can play sitting mid or box to box, left wing and left back so is also very adaptable. For me McGinn would add more to the team than Armstrong.

Not hating on Armstrong either sad to see him go but I’ve rated McGinn since he was 18 at St.Mirren giving Broony good battles.

Every player is unproven until given the chance, as you say he is young and already has a lot of qualities and experience. If we sign McGinn he will prove a lot of people wrong.

Fulham have just rejected 20m for Cairney, Stu is comfortably as good if not better.

Cairney plays in England and is proven in England, it’s well know there’s an English tax.

Cairney isn’t worth anything like 20 million.

Good bit of business for a player who didn't want to be here......good luck to him.... I don't believe we'll struggle to replace him with a similar or better player.

Tell he whit mate, if Stu Armstrong moves to anyone for 40 million I’ll give you every penny I own.

That’s a £22.50 you’ll never be seeing, for the record.

Anything but a great player. Did a job domestically, but you just have to see his European performances to see that he was out of his depth...

Doesn’t want to be here and clearly hasn’t since before he signed that extension last summer. At least we get a decent fee for him.

Rumours were he only stayed due to his studies, but aye totally agree was a shadow of the player from the previous season.
