Considering the last Socceroos game I followed was the WC Play Off game against Izzy's Honduras, and they had Tim Cahill starting at CF. He must be close to 40 and considering he was never a CF, even in his prime at Everton kinda tells you all you need to know about where Australia are right now. But then again, they've had to appoint a new manager since then as well, so no idea how they will be shaping up heading to Russia.

honestly, I hate myself for thinking but under Martinez I can't see Belgium topping the group they have.

England are a decent price in that respect.

Genuinely can't wait to see Rogic rip it up. Absolute legend of a guy, that new contract means we can watch him tear everybody apart with no nerves whatsoever. Anybody wants to bid it's 15 million minimum now.

I wonder if Tom's as big a hero back home?

Only amoungst Celtic fans back in Aus from what I see/know.
Aussies are a bit thick when it comes to Football, unless they've been/lived to Europe or a diehard fan, they've got no clue. (on that note, would also have no scooby doo about what Tom has done at Celtic)

Every Rogic update on Social Media by the Socceroos you can browse through the comments and all you will read is
"get to da Prem bro" or "* until he moves to the Prem" - again this idea that the premier league is the holy grail of "soccer".

In regard to the WC, we need to play * well to get anything, young squad, lots of new faces, new coach seems to be decent, we struggle up top though - cant rely on 38 year old Cahill to score goals, MF of Rogic, Mooy, Luongo, Jedinak is our strongest point.

Heart says - draw france, lose to denmark, win vs peru

Head says - pumped by france, lose to denmark, draw vs peru

Just seen paolo guerrero ban overturned. He can play at the World Cup. Justice done. Well done to the other teams for asking for him to be reinstated

Is it bad to hope Rogic personally does well but Australia don't go through to the knockouts with wanting him back sharpish for us? :fear:

France take Thauvin but leave out Ben Yedder and Coman..

Doesn't surprise me that Martial and Lacazette, especially especially the latter, has been left out..

I wonder what the best XI of players who haven’t made their WC squads would look like.

Coman and Sane on the wings is some start.:giggle1:
