I think it is another of the transparency issues in football you are still relying on the ref stopping his watch or at least gesticulating that he is. In something like Rugby League they have other officials to watch the clock and it is displayed on the screen ( for TV games) or on the scoreboard for other games so everyone can see when it has been stopped then the hooter goes bang on half-time and full-time and the game ends at the next dead ball.

All for it, but needs to be done better within football. Screen it within stadium so the crowd actually knows what they’re looking at and mic up the refs aswell, much like NFL where it works pretty well

They probably need to refine it but we definitely need VAR. Celtic fans are constantly complaining about biased refereeing over the years, but now that a system is coming in to hopefully mitigate it some don’t want it?

For me, the sheer volume of incorrect decisions necessitates this.

Aye the same association who held back celtic players registration, so that they couldn't play against their establishment team Rangers(R.I.P) are going to bring in technology that affords fair decisions , to appease celtic fans.:giggle2:

It will be the same biased referees making the decisions it will just take them an extra three minutes to get it wrong.

At first I was suspicious of VAR, but I've been exposed and acclimated to it quite a bit as it was fully implemented into the Portuguese League this season (the league I watch the most). Several months in, I have to say, I'm a supporter of it, not to say that there haven't been some hiccups and kinks to work out a long the way, and there have been a few mistakes made by the powers that be making the decisions, but by and large, from what I've seen VAR (at least in the Portuguese league) has upheld the "truth" when it comes to making tough decisions, I like it, and I'm a supporter of it.

Is it just me , or does VAR seem like its being implemented better on the continent or at least being taken more seriously than what your seeing down south.

Aye I seen the Utd game the other day and it seemed to work fine. Didn’t bother me in the slightest and didn’t affect my viewing enjoyment.
