So the players are getting one week off with their families. Then they are off to Dubai to start training again. Is one week enough of a break?

I’d imagine the training is more a mixture of recovery/recuperation before the harder stuff starts again?

@4-4-2 you still on here? Shed any light?

It's the same as last year for the players.

One week with family, no football or training - followed by Dubai in the sun, training and team building also involved. More than enough time, and just what the club needs.

Does the Championship have a break too? I wonder if we sign Morgan if he wil come to Dubai, could be a good move to get used to his teammates..

One week isn't much of a break but it's better than nothing. It'll do us a lot of good.

Will they be playing any friendlies over there does anyone know?

I would imagine that there will be some Russian clubs over in Dubai at the same time as they are currently on their own winter break.

It might be good preparation for the Zenit tie if we could get a game arranged with one of them.

That's pretty good then. A bit of a reset and rest.

A bonus for us is that our first game after the break is an easy one against Brechin, followed by Partick then the Edinburgh sides. I'm sure one of them will receive a thumping.

So crow’s video there, the players get 6 days completely off, then training in Dubai starts.

I don’t think thats enough personally.

Really depends what their sessions are like in Dubai. It might feel like a holiday camp.

I think that’s probably the ideal amount of rest and recovery for the players.

It’s the actual games that are grueling for players. I’d say other than pre season, the training is sharp and intense but I wouldn’t say there is anything hugely demanding about it for them considering how fit they already are.

We've been excuse making this last month tbh. First losing the unbeaten run was "good" because "now we can play with freedom!", then it was all about "they need their break, their minds are on the break already".

When you're being paid a fortune to play for Celtic, these excuses are unacceptable. It's a mental thing, so if for some reason the players are fixated on this break, there better be no more excuses when they get back.

Warm weather light training and analysis seems ideal mate, can’t be off too long.

Aye true. I’m sure it will have that feel. Saw the same last year.

I forget that their job is a footballer and they aren’t looking for two weeks away from a desk!! :56:

It’s clear they need a break though..

Since BR has come in we’ve successfully negotiated all the CL Qualifiers twice, the CL proper with some draining performances, the domestic cup competitions plus most of our players are involved internationally.

It’s not just this season where we’ve played 38 games already, but an accumulation of the games played over both seasons since BR has come in. With what a two week break in the summer.

The break is needed, BR has squeezed all he can out of the players and now we need to bolster the squad with quality.

The camp in Dubai will not be heavy training at all, wont be nothing like Pre season a week off wont effect the players so there isn't any need to build fitness up, rather just maintain it and work on different things, the camp will seem like a break as well for the players
