Serving Guinness (and, frankly, * Guinnes) does not make you an Irish bar. Take your discount Axl Rose vocalist to *, and get the rebs on.

I remember my old fella saying he went to a Liverpool-Celtic friendly in the 90’s, (Ian Rush’s testimonial?) and he mentioned that the Celtic fans congregated in the Irish pubs, naturally.

Apparently there were heavy-handed police/security though in each Irish pub, preventing the Celtic fans from singing anything, and generally enjoying themselves.

According to my Dad, they later found out that it was the pubs themselves that arranged this security/police presence, which obviously * a load of people off and sullied the views of a lot of people about Irish bars in Liverpool.

That, and my old fella was in the ‘Irish bar’ McCooleys(?) recently with his missus in Concert Square and bumped into a load of fans of the Occupied 6, who claim that’s where they watch all their games...

McCooleys is ok as you say there is a lot of Irish bars in the city centre but they are not real, only Liffey and Molly Malones and Flanagans worth a visit and the Irish Centre is 10 min away from town but has all band eg Charlie and the Bhoys-Wolfetones etc Irish dancing and Language classes etc
