    Think they should just leave it be tbh if people want to drink fizzy drinks let them everybody knows the sugar content in irn bru they're not drinking it cos it's healthy.

    The sugar tax is designed to tackle obesity but think I’m right in saying it’s only being applied to soft drinks for some reason.
    As others have said, there are other foods around with as much sugar and far more calories than a can of Irn Bru.

    Ugh, i hate how things need to be altered because greedy fat * can't regulate their intake.
    I've eaten and drank a lot of crap throught my life but i've never been fat. I'm far from being buff but i'm not unhealthy. I'm sure most people are the same.

    It's not sugar that Irn Bru needs to think about, it's Sunset Yellow additive. There is actually a disclaimer on the sides of Irn Bru bottles that this may cause hyperactivity in children!

    Better for the future though, imagine we grew up with irn bru with double the sugar it has now, thats what we'd be used to since kids and if they halved it to what it is now it would be "ruined" but for weans just being born now they won't be used to the high sugar people before them were so half sugar irn bru will be sweet to them.

    And this is true. My sister let her eldest have an Irn Bru drink when she was young but afterwards she just went nuts. I don't think hyperactive quite described it with how crazy she got with the Bru so needless to say my sis didn't let her have any more :giggle1:
