Can’t believe some of the stuff I am reading here.

Boyata has been one of our most improved players under Brendan along the likes of Forrest, McGregor etc.

His distribution has improved but is by no means perfect. Wasn’t just him that struggled last night.

Until the changes were made second half Brown was probably the only player that wasn’t carelessly giving the ball away in the first half.

I don't think Boyata found a green and white shirt once in that first half with his feet which wasn't really a surprise! Easily the worst with the opposition pressing us high up the pitch! That lead to the woeful performance from the team in general, some worse than others of course.

Yeah that's it, Boyata caused our poor performance, who replaced him at half time then when we started playing well?

Though Boyata did ok last night apart from a couple of slack passes...
Was watching it with my dad who was bricking it every time he was on the ball...I on the other hand was quite relaxed and it's maybe just me but I think he's a better player than most folk think.

Me too for jumping down your throat a bit. It’s posts like his I don’t like, yours was genuine criticism and I sometimes get protective of players when they weren’t the worst performer on the night :102:

Boyata isnt the best at passing we know that, sometimes its his judgement of the situation he gets wrong as in the Bayern game but if he never made mistakes he would still be at Man City

He's mince. Not Mark McNally or Rafael Scheidt bad but bad nonetheless. Even when his form picked up a bit last season I didn't buy the hype. Would happily punt him if anyone is stupid enough to throw £4-5million our way.

Boyata is good enough domestically and can even defend well enough at European level but his passing isn't good enough, that's a simple indisputable fact.

We can't criticise Gordon for his poor passing ability when Boyata is just as bad.

At 27 is he going to improve much? At least Simunovic is still young. We need a CB in Jan and another one in the summer. With Sviatchenko sold in Jan and Boyata in the summer.

Want to see Ajer claim a spot now!

If he hadn't misplaced those passes everyone would be raving about his defensive work.

That’s the problem though mate, we used to say the same about Efe, if it wasn’t for the * up’s he’d be good.

Boyata’s our centre back that’s the best at defending for me, he also is the one that is the worst because of his concentration.

Aye but he did mate and he does often. In Europe where possession it everything it's suicidal to give the ball away where he did. We were lucky not to be punished..

Which of our players don't make * ups though, mate?

I'm not saying Boyata is a CL level cb because he isn't. But I don't think he's a bad defender.

I agree that we need better if we can find it.

When was the last time he made such big errors? Genuine question as I can't remember.
