Was outstanding today, real future ahead of him. Only problem for him is that he has KT to compete with.

Tell you what, I guarantee all the young guys are looking at Tierney as a role model of how to make it at Celtic. Hopefully he can inspire a generation to work their baws of to make it.

He probably is, lot of Celtic youngsters think of themselves as good and skillful technical players - guys like Nesbitt, McGeouch, Henderson but many amount to nothing because they've not got the physicality or allround game they probably think by coasting youth football scoring hat-tricks all the time etc they are going to make it.

Tierney is dominating games with power, pace, fitness, drive, leadership added to good ability and others should be noticing you also need all that to your game as well otherwise you'll end up at Ross County and Motherwell.

Great going forward but can he actually defend?

He's had some great defensive moments in the two games against Killie.

Even if he canny he'll be in good company :56: when was the last time we had a left-back other than Tierney know for defending? probably long before anyone on here was born back in the days defenders never really went up the park.

He has won 4/5 slide tackles against Kilmarnock over the two games though so atleast is willing to put a tackle in and doing it successfully.

Great times at Celtic. A very strong starting 11 with young players coming through that are good enough to seriously challenge those already in the team. This is exactly how a successful, well run football club should be.

I'm racking my brains, but our most defensive left backs I can think of were RBs playing at LB..:56:

I was impressed with his positional play and when he was choosing to attack or cover. Couple of good slide tackles but he was intercepting more than anything.

The last one I can genuinely think of was Ulrik Laursen.

Every left footed left back I can think of since O'Neill's time all were either mad heedless chickens or offensivey minded: Crainey(probably more defensive) , Braafheid, Naylor, El Baktoui, Mo Camara,........think I'll just stop it there ffs :56::56::56:
