Thought it was pish. All the chippies there are living off that award from about 20 years ago and they're all snidey.

Get a better chippy in just about every town in Scotland.

All the daft tourists lap it up though because it's next to the water. The place is a dump as well.

It has won loads of awards over the years including last year.

The other chip shop in Anstruther is also good as is the one in Market Street in St Andrews.

As for one better in every town....not a chance.

It's not just tourists that go to it. People travel from surrounding areas knowing what they are going to get.

Anyway, enough fighting over a chippy.:giggle1:

cromers is the chippy in st. Andrews. its expensive about a tenner for a fish supper but well worth it. from memory cromers owned the anstruther fish bar when it won the award but sold it about 10 years ago to concentrate on the st Andrews shop.

cromers is well better than anstruther fish bar in my opinion.

My go to chippy is near £18/£20 for a fish supper :giggle1:

    It is monkfish right enough.

Fish suppers are not a kick in the * off a tenner regardless.

Think it's 8 quid roughly in every chippy round about me.

Last time we went to 'the wee chippy' and it was rank. Ever tried it ?

    Chips tasted like sand.

That award winning one, the sausages they use are like wee * winkies. Tiny wee things.
